Rotating house (Tom Scott)
  • costing a fortune in energy spending.

    I'm curious where the energy waste comes in. The owner says it only takes a 1HP motor to move the building, so I can't imagine its very power hungry. What am I missing?

  • Boost for Lemmy is happening!
  • Hopefully it supports Kbin as well

  • Lawyers: Internal email proves Microsoft's Activision bid is designed to eliminate PlayStation
  • And Starfield keeps getting delayed

    To be fair to Microsoft, that was because (like most Bethesda games) it was a complete mess and needed a lot more QA work. I'd rather it get delayed rather than released broken.

  • ELI5: What's the differences between Lemmy and kbin?
  • I also heard they are meant to be able to access each other's content, although that's currently not working.

    I don't know about Lemmy being able to see Kbin's content, but I'm posting this from a Kbin instance right now. Most of the posts I see are in fact on Lemmy instances.

  • Use Kbin at your own risk. Can’t delete account.
  • I'd imagine the servers were just overloaded. I'd give it some time and try again.

  • Is Lemmy really ran by neo-nazis?
  • Which is why I'm on Kbin instead, frankly.

  • Whats a game that everybody seems to love that you cant stand for one reason or another?
  • See, I love Obra Dinn's art style, but I agree that the interface is pretty clunky.

  • Whats a game that everybody seems to love that you cant stand for one reason or another?
  • Borderlands: I mean the combat is fine and all, but the story is super weak. What is my incentive to keep playing? Just to click on more heads? There are better games for that (Doom, Quake, etc)

  • How are you going to avoid using reddit?
  • Not having a mobile app will automatically curtail a lot of my usage. I'll probably keep using the desktop site though until they kill off old Reddit.

  • Slashdot -> Fark -> Digg -> Reddit -> Lemmy
  • For me, Slashdot->Digg->Reddit->Kbin (Fediverse)

    We've moved once, we can move again
