  • I don’t really appreciate your snide comment. As one single human being, I have limited power to influence change. As a consumer, my options are to use my purchasing to support causes/companies who are doing good. I also actively avoid (as best as possible) giving my money to companies/people who are doing harm to the planet or its inhabitants. That includes people like Rowling who use their platform to harm vulnerable people. I had a lot of respect for her up until she started gunning for people who are just trying to live their lives. I’m not canceling her, I’m just not giving her my money.

  • Any ideas of places to buy a secondhand copy of Hogwarts Legacy PS4 (other than eBay or FB Marketplace of course)? I want to play it without buying it new as I don’t want to give money to a transphobe.

  • A happy Christmas to those of you who celebrate, hugs and care to those for whom it is a tough day, and a nice quiet day to those for whom it’s just another Monday. Take care out there, wet roads and family stress can make it a tough day to drive or travel. Pats to the pets, and watch out that they don’t eat anything they shouldn’t. If you have to work, may your shift be easy and pass quickly, and I hope you’re getting sweet extra cash.

Here’s a picture of the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market to enjoy.

  • Looks awesome! I did these as presents a couple of years ago. I just used butter biscuits though, but deviated with coloured icing ball things and some silver stars. They’re pretty easy but look awesome.

  • Last two Christmas markets are both in Cologne. Cologne has a bunch of markets and we visited 4 of them. Our last day today was very wet and windy, so in the end it was a bit of a down day because we were a bit melancholy about our holiday finishing and having to head back to reality. It’s been an amazing trip and we’ve had such an incredible time.

Best markets: Würzburg (our first proper Christmas market and it snowed, plus Ravenna Gorge and the medieval-themed market in Munich because it was just so much fun (there was an Irish folk band playing and the vibes were super fun).

  • Two Christmas markets! Firstly Aachen’s, looking at the Cathedral that Charlemagne commissioned in 796, then Baden-Baden’s in the fog. Both were good markets, with some good variety of stuff and not too much tat. The lines for food and drinks at Baden-Baden were ridic, whereas they were much more manageable in Aachen. Cologne tomorrow!

  • Last night we went to Ravenna Gorge Christmas market, not too far from Freiburg. It. Was. AWESOME. It’s under a train viaduct thing that gets lit up in various colours. It was so atmospheric and fun, we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you’re in Germany at Christmas market time.
