  • Haven’t you heard? The State of Victoria was annexed by time-travelling Victorians in the name of their queen. We’ve been at war for over a decade; it is why Australia spends any significant amount of money on its military.

It’s been rough because the time paradoxes are not in our favour. Killing a Victorian causes a battalion of soldiers to BTTF fade from existence.

  • Originally I had a longer and more nuanced gut response that was along the lines of: “ok people have weird dreams and whatever, sure, but why would you publish this instead of just talking about it in therapy?” which you have answered more or less

  • And yup, most folks read that poem as a caution against big egos and the impermanence of power. We read it differently. To us, the poem says think big, but be humble, lest you end ‘two vast and trunkless legs…in the desert.’

Omfg. Yes, be humble, but not humble enough to accept the orthodox interpretation of the poem.

In Australia, we have the "festival of dangerous ideas", which should be renamed to the "money pit for mediocre to bad ideas"; the most recent (2022) lineup included our guy Peven Stinker.

I wish there were a festival for people who hate ideas festivals.

  • Finished the vid (at 2x speed). uwu libertarian is right. There's no analysis or insight on any of the examples. A lot of details are being glossed over. If the world was 90% people like the vid creator, we'd all be living in company towns.

Also... is this an example of horseshoe theory?? Aren't charter cities just soviets/workers councils????
