  • That would help, but it isn't just the money. Both Zohran Mamdani and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were able to secure offices when they were right around 30 years old and both lacked solid support from their own party. Entrenched political parties are arguably an even bigger barrier to involving younger participation in government, not just because the parties control their own purse strings but because they resist up and coming candidates by treating office holders like they have tenure.

  • That is actually a good reason to have a wide variety of ages in government, so that there is a mix of those connected to the world today and those that have more wisdom.

  • Indigenous people being humans means there were violent conflicts between different cultures and groups within cultures like anywhere else in the world. It was relatively less violent than colonial occupation like how Europe was less violent than during the world wars.

  • Architecture and engineering for construction are on par with doctors and nurses in medicine. Medicine has a ton of grunt work that doesn't require higher education.

It doesn't seem like you posted this question in good faith.

  • You are conflating the result of society filtering people with less education into blue collar work with the potential for the work to involve bigotry.

Saying people should avoid the trades because of the current culture reinforces the current culture by filtering it to the same uneducated pool of candidates. In a first world country higher education should be free so even those that go into trades have the opportunity to further their education without it being tied to their career goals.

  • What makes you think blue collar contexts have a higher potential for bigotry?

  • That’s true to an extent, but saying that a feminine woman or a feminine gay man (for example) would be treated better in a blue-collar job than in a white-collar one isn’t really grounded in reality.

    Is anyone saying that?

  • It isn't anti intellectualism, it is a overcorrection for the decades of insisting that going to college (and taking on massive debt in the US at least) is the right career path although it isn't worth it anymore. It isn't saying that knowledge and learning are bad, but they aren't as economically advantageous as they were a couple decades ago.

The trades are good for a fairly quick return, but you are correct that they and to take a physical toll and the pay is generally exaggerated.

Offices are full of misogyny, homophobiaz and other forms of bigotry too.

A better approach would be to promote both on their own positives and negatives, but humans tend to swing wildly from one extreme to another.

  • Yeah, like holy shit do these people come home and relax to a picture of a crying child?

"It was a tough days work, but at least this boy is still crying!"

  • I'm just leading with the inevitable explanation that will be requested.

  • They consented until they didn't and that is their right!

  • A little bit is fine, and does make racing a bit more fun while improving but it is very annoying at very low and very high skills levels. At low levels even a little seems like the game is holding your hand, while at high levels it kills the momentum of getting a solid lead.

The worst is when it is obvious and clearly designed to make every finish a close call. I absolutely hate Mario Kart because it does this.

  • This is everything I haven't seen before. If I am running a table top game like D&D my monsters are literally a list of traits and regurgitated descriptions with no visual details in my own mind. This works out pretty well somehow.

  • Depends!

If I haven't seen it before, then 5. I literally cannot picture something I haven't seen before.

Most things are a 4 if I'm lucky.

If I've seen it a lot of times, like more than 20 times, maybe a 2 or 3. If I've seen it 100+ times then probably a 2. No, I cannot deviate from what I literally saw, and it may not even be that detailed.

  • Some women just don't enjoy receiving oral. Not when it is done wrong, not at all.

Also some men don't enjoy blowjobs.

  • Also works for slippers.

  • What's you favorite dinosaur?

  • Punch Out (post Mike Tyson) required the most effort. Memorizing the patterns was a real pain in the ass for me, being a kid with undiagnosed ADHD.

I don't really beat games much anymore. Most of the games I play are either open ended or don't have a defined win condition like Forza Horizon or Helldivers 2. Or they have a side story that isn't chsllenging like Tekken 8. Most have a number of things to unlock, but unlocking them isn't really beating them as they just take time.

If a game has an ending are long enough that I want to do the story the difficulty is going to be turned down a bit. If it requires a lot of remembering things I will bail out partway through because that shit is way harder for me than any kind of mechanics.
