  • He will never admit to what he sees as weakness. He painted himself into a corner there with how he constantly accuses Joe and Hilary of not being forthright about their health issues. He’s such a hypocrite.

His bragging about “passing” these cognitive tests makes me think the doctors have to make them into a game he can “win” or best others at just so he’ll take them. So even they are well aware he’s a stupid narcissist and know how to manipulate him.

My hot take is I bet Leavitt looked ashen that day because he had a heart attack and/or stroke right in front of Putin.

  • Yeah, we're in the same boat. I'm going through the backlog, but I have yet to truly find my comfort food even though those two games are excellent. Especially PoE2.

Regardless, agree on your points. The latter two franchises have shown that live-service can be done well. Though I still don't quite get how Warframe pulls it off... I guess it's that they never broke their model while Bungie... you know.

For Last Epoch, the campaign wasn't even finished and then suddenly. Don't write checks you can't cash, I guess.

  • They should have just put a fork in it when it became very apparent early on it was too ambitious for the studio to handle. And that was long before it blew up in popularity. Now the game has been unprofitable for the past few expansions and their owners are coming to collect. Live service was a massive, greedy mistake as Bungie is also not learning with D2.

  • We just got a letter from our water company that the part of our outside line they own may or may not be lead-based. And that they are not sure about the part we own. They also have no current plans to investigate or replace the part they own unless we decide to replace the part we own. Then we need to call them to coordinate the installation.

    Unbelievable.

  • Yes. I was so creeped out by the giant beige maze of cubes further than my eye could see at one place I interviewed at that I didn’t take it. Now here I am 10 years later at a place where I’m… in a beige cube. And I like it. Open floor plans or even half-cubes are hell for my concentration.

  • IEMs. Or speakers in general. I previously bought the cheapest cheapo crap and didn’t give much thought past “mmm bass go brrrr.” Then I spent a little extra on a nice set and sat for hours re-listening to albums just gobsmacked by the clarity alone. Lots of snake oil in the industry though.

  • My friend and I look for these occasionally. They’re often deployed with default passwords and never updated. Many seem to be set up to case businesses and houses and appear to be obscured from view. It’s super great /s

  • My first system. My confusion about it not getting a Nintendo quickly evaporated playing Hang-On, Outrun and Space Harrier (at home!) Such a cool piece of hardware. I remember being bummed by the lack of selection in stores, but still have a stack of bangers. I need to re-cap it…

  • Watch videos and practice on something that isn’t you if you can. It’s easy to goof up with long hair if you don’t use the right techniques. I have been clipper-cutting mine for over a decade now. Obviously that’s much simpler but it still took practice.
