  • Hanlon's razor mate. I know it's entirely possible that it's a conspiracy, but it'd entirely possible (and more likely) that it's just incompetence and lack of communication due to inefficient and lackluster processes as well as too many levels of leadership.

  • This kills Aurora store and other alternate play store frontends that are entirely based on spoofing your identity when you download an app. Of course, you can still install these things on Custom ROMs I assume, since those aren't going to be verified Android or whatever google is calling this bullshit, right?

  • Does it matter? Kamala was supposed to have a slam dunk victory in the last presidential election. Every single post made on Reddit and Lemmy and Mastodon and everything said Trump's numbers are "lowest they've ever been" and what not. In the end, Trump won and it wasn't even close. It doesn't matter what the polls say. In the end, hatred and stupidity won in the last election and who knows, it might work again.

  • I'm not a programmer in any sense. Recently, I made a project where I used python and raspberry pi and had to train some small models on a KITTI data set. I used AI to write the broad structure of the code, but in the end, it took me a lot of time going through python documentation as well as the documentation of the specific tools/modules I used to actually get the code working. Would an experienced programmer get the same work done in an afternoon? Probably. But the code AI output still had a lot of flaws. Someone who knows more than me would probably input better prompts and better follow up requirements and probably get a better structure from the AI, but I doubt they'll get a complete code. In the end, even to use AI, you have to know what you're doing to use AI efficiently and you still have to polish the code into something that actually works.

  • A lot of sites suddenly start crashing when you try to get away from them. My reddit account got banned (that's why I came to lemmy) and I am trying to delete every single one of my posts and comments on reddit using scripts, and reddit has suddenly started crashing. Interesting.
