  • Work on your negative self-talk.

Each time you remember something and cringe or insult yourself, you overwrite that memory with you feeling shitty about it. It's a terrible feedback mechanism.

Instead, laugh at your silly mistakes, celebrate your successes and failures, and forgive yourself.

It will take a long time to unwind the stuff you have done to yourself, but this is one technique you can just start doing - recognize when you are beating yourself up and do a little better.

  • It's about the remake.

  • IBS for me is dietary and stress/anxiety related. Certainly worth discussing with your doctor but if it is a new issue, I would not assume IBS.

  • I thought I was dying in my 30s.

I have IBS and it just skyrocketed in its effects on me over a period of a few years. Doctors had no clue.

I lost my job, went bankrupt, and had a lost decade.

Turned out I had a hernia that turned my IBS into regular intestine blockages. Public benefits paid for the surgery, and here I am almost twenty years later. (Worth noting that I met a woman who never thought she would find love or get married, and she demanded I get the surgery.)

I am back to being unemployed and need some simple remote work, so if anyone has ideas, much appreciated.

  • ...

  • I enjoyed it but don't see a season two holding up, should they decide to do one.

  • Yeah, if you put in the opening the line "They have a plan," you better damned well know what that plan is.

In the end the plan was "We're gonna kill 'em all!!"

  • You are 100% correct.

I have rewatched the series and come to some peace about it, but it is still the first one to come to mind for this thread.

Religion was always woven into the series, and the original was somewhat Mormon inspired.

But that last bit, the evolving nature of god and the whole new set of questions was what I was hoping it would touch on.

  • The end of Battlestar Galactica.

They literally tied up all the loose threads into a bundle labeled "God did it" and then refused to speculate about God because that's distasteful.

It's sci-fi. You speculate. It's what the genre does.

  • And if you don't want to leave your house a ton, find online hobbies that let you find and meet people, like card games, board games, roleplaying games, etc.

Granted I had my board gaming friends but when COVID hit and we couldn't play, I made a D&D campaign for them.

We had never played that together before but everyone was in, and one of the players had never played but had read a ton of novels (Dragonlance, Frizzy [Drizzt!], etc) and was fully committed.

Now we have all taken turns as the DM, and two of us usually swap out for our own stories.

  • I only ever got gilded two or three times on Reddit, but I remember the first.

Someone posted "I have been streaming a lot of Ice Cube lately."

I replied "You can't stream Ice Cube. That's just water."

  • The thing that makes it cringe for me is that with 99% of the people posting, it is really clear that the pics are not of them, so the "Let me know if you like what you see" title is downright pathetic.

I don't want zero adult content on here but not at all like that, and it is close to me turning off NSFW again rather than continuing to block all the spammers.

  • I am not a bread expert at all, but I would suggest bread flour instead of all-purpose. I think that extra protein will help gluten development.

I have also thrown some ice cubes in the dutch oven to steam the bread and help the crust to remain pliable so it can rise more. But I also cracked a clay dutch oven doing this, so be careful.

  • Why would you see this as a solution when burkas and face coverings are being argued about even more than nudity?

  • That's how I find them, so yeah.

And it might be kind of interesting until you do the math and realize that each instance pays the price of storing your thoughts.

  • Do not

  • 116 is a leap birthday.

  • I browse all, so it annoys me but I also realize that's what I set myself up for.

When it really annoys me I block the less popular community or the one who keeps annoying me.

But the ones that really really annoy me are the people who join and then make a community "Just for their thoughts, ideas, and links."

Get a fucking diary. (Again, this is still a me problem, it's just what annoys me.)
