I suspect almost everyone here understands how this happens and feels more sympathy than anything. We've been there, and with higher stakes. Thanks for taking the time to administer this instance.

Lemmy still lacks good moderation tools, from what I’ve heard.

The user UX could use some work too. I'm pretty comfortable now, but getting set up subscribed to the communities I wanted wasn't straightforward. And I keep expecting my !community@server.tld links to work even though (I think) I know how to do it.

I think it's likely to spike again when the api goes dark. I haven't been back there, is any consensus forming regarding whether people will use /r/rust, !rust@lemmyrs.org, or !rust@programming.dev going forward?

I think I was unclear. I agree that having replaceable batteries is exciting. Ben sarcastically called Apple coming up with a way to circumvent the law exciting. And I agreed, also sarcastically.

I don't think that lemmygrad is particularly problematic as a federated instance and I would be disappointed if I could no longer access it. I'm also a newcomer but I haven't 08heard of them brigading or trolling other instances. Although I don't know that I've seen any posts on it or comments by its users, the fact that other instances aren't defederating from it makes me think those aren't issues that they have.

They're views are pretty radical, but I just briefly skimmed their front page and I don't see anything that makes me want them inaccessible.

I thought the clerk's job was purely administrative. I know they're elected but aren't they supposed to just make sure the city runs?
