  • It's kind of implied rather than explicitly taught, and even then only really in certain subjects after those subjects become optional.

The misanthrope in me questions how many of the people in the mobs paid attention in school in the first place. You can't just hammer stuff into kids heads, you need to inspire them to love learning and I doubt we will be getting that.

  • It's more the idea that everyone counts as people. The further right you go the smaller the group you assign full person status becomes. Liberals are OK with a bit of genocide and/or slavery as long as the victims are sufficiently poor, distant, and profitable.

  • Monstrous Regiment is I think a pretty good entry point. It's relatively new but it stands alone quite nicely and doesn't need much background knowledge.

If you'd prefer something more early in his writing then Small Gods is a good one. It outlines a lot of how the world works, but again isn't deeply connected.

Wyrd Sisters, Guards! Guards!, and Mort are also good entry points and are the start of the Witches, City Watch, and Death subseries respectively.

  • Slowly is less impactful. Though my preference would be to go fairly hard so it stands out. Start by shaving your chin and lower lip (keeping side whiskers, sideburns, and moustache.) Then keep narrowing that up into a neat friendly or trimming down into a hulihee then into a moustache. This I think would give you a much more 'transitional moustache' look than aiming at a goatee. You could also go for a horseshoe.
