A wise thing to do is for men to have their own "Tea" type of app to balance things out. I see no reason not to.

This would probably be an equal breach of privacy for less gain.

Female Tea (if used properly) is about protecting women from being abused.

Male Tea would probably be more about flagging girls that want expensive dates and don't put out.

Like, sure, go ahead. Have a male Tea app. But the stakes are not the same.

"What about" is a fantastic way to breed apathy when people are protesting something. You're doing nothing for any of those causes with this comment. You're making things worse for all of those causes, plus the one this post is about. And your comment only tangentially relates to the Community this post is in...

"community's" is possessive. English almost never uses an apostrophe to pluralize. If adding an s gives you a red "misspelling line", then you need to do something else.

In this case, you need to drop the y and change it to "ie" before the s.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the comment above yours, but you're comparing men becoming "essentialy undatable" to women being raped. Perhaps unknowingly.

What does "mas" mean? I thought it was a typo for male, but you said it twice, so I'm not sure it's a typo anymore, lol

The GC didn't have a keyboard, so it was useful for MMORPGs. Not sure if I should be pluralizing that, though. It might've only been PSO.

If he's living with you, you could try to block it at the router/firewall level.

On the machine, I'd just make it really slow rather than block it outright. Make it as unpleasant as possible to access those sites without blocking them outright. Making them slow makes it look like the sites suck. Blocking them makes it look like you did it or some conspiracy thing.

But if he lives with you, blocking them from your network is perfectly ethical imo

Or anything that's just spammy or bonkers crazy. I've blocked more people in my 1-ish year on Lemmy than I had in something like 10 years on Reddit...it definitely feels like Lemmy is the haven for Reddit refugees, including those who got banned for not really understanding how to engage in this type of space.

Also, any post that really doesn't fit the community. Like NoStupidQuestions posts that aren't questions or are really just AITA or DAE (social validation) posts in disguise.

I know that sounds like a lot, but for the most part, I don't vote on things. I upvote most posts that are cool/interesting enough to get me to go to the source or read through the comments, as well as any good comments. And pretty much any comment that engages in discussion with my own comments without being annoying or rude, lol

I think making a genuine mistake is fine if it contributes to discussion, especially if it's later edited to reflect the fact that it was mistaken.

In my experience, this community is really sensitive to anything even remotely pro-car, so jokes need to be marked more clearly than multiple exclamation marks! Haha

I got the base game for free a few years ago.

I played and enjoyed it so much I bought the Platinum edition...on Steam, because it was cheaper there. (And other reasons, but this was the biggest one)

One of the few games I actually went out and bought thanks to Epic. I feel slightly bad for not buying from them, lol
