  • by this logic I should thank people for stopping at stop signs, red light and stuffs...

Really feels like it these days.

People seem really annoyed whenever they have to stop at a stop sign for me instead of being able to treat it more like a speed bump

    1. Give all players a pause limit. A certain number of minutes per game and per pause, and a number of pauses. Players can't pause anymore after going over their time limit or pause count limit. The game resumes after a pause's time limit is reached.
    2. Pausing should happen after a delay of a certain number of seconds. So a player hits pause, countdown starts before actually pausing.
    3. Resuming from a pause also has a timer.
    4. Players' pause stats are retained. People who take more pauses or spend more time pausing the game get matched with each other.
  • What you described isn't "looks like a duck, quacks like a duck".

This is a fire in a government (publicly-funded) location in an industry that's often overlooked and underfunded... in a traditionally conservative country (with a Liberal leader for the last few months) that is part of a very top-down hierarchical structure. Which would suggest that the complaints of a systems administrator are likely to be ignored. And that's assuming that the systems administrator is competent, which isn't a guarantee in and of itself.

I'm seeing what looks like a duck, I'm hearing the quacks. The conspiracy theory is that it's a squirrel in a duck costume that learned how to quack so people would toss it bread.

  • Another problem with gaming chairs is that some of them feel immediately comfortable when you sit in them for a few seconds/minutes.

If they're not ergonomically designed (most aren't), they're actually not supporting you properly. This will lead to back pain etc.

Find the cutest high-quality office chair that fits your budget. Go used to save 50% or more

  • Pretty big conspiracy theory for a situation where incompetence doesn't seem out of the ordinary.

SysAdmins saying "We need X, we need Y", someone who signs the cheques saying "But it works fine! Why would there be a fire? We already spent so much on those UPSs"

  • What are the filters to make it look like AI? I'm not sure what that means. When I hear "looks like AI", I imagine "has 7 fingers per hand, inconsistent art styles, and has really weird things when you look closely at the details"

  • To stop the edit wars.

Also the creator of the format attempted to troll people by saying it's officially pronounced "jiff", and it's taken as truth by the gullible and the people who believe that if you create something, you should be able to control what people call it (even if it defies logic).

  • ...why would someone take pride in valuable fascism?

Like...I have less money than Elon Musk. But I'm more emotionally stable, probably happier, and not a pedo. There's more important things than monetary value.

  • The problem with that is that it isn't actually counting the R's.

You'd probably have better luck asking it to write a script for you that returns the number of instances of a letter in a string of text, then getting it to explain to you how to get it running and how it works. You'd get the answer that way, and also then have a script that could count almost any character and text of almost any size.

That's much more complicated, impressive, and useful, imo.
