  • DeLorean is 304 Stainless. Cyber truck is 30? stainless. As in Tesla doesn't want to say, which is why they write it "30X".

given how hard the steel is purported to be, it's likely a variant of 304N, instead of 304 or 304L. (basic stainless like in commercial kitchen equipment and 18/10 stainless, like in high end cooking pans). 304N is harder to work with cold due to it's hardness and gets harder when worked, both properties Tesla has reported as belonging to the cybertruck's steel. 304N is considered a marine grade stainless steel.

There have been a lot of developments in stainless steel production in the 40ish years since the DeLorean came out, so I highly doubt it's the same steel.

  • ucc-1 is apparently an "I am entitled to part of some property", I assume when it goes up for sale to settle debts, you're basically saying they owe you something.

AAA I'm guessing is their insurance company, NFCU could be Navy Federal Credit Union (basically probably their bank that held the loan for the car)

The 1099 is a tax for, but there's usually an extra set of letters after. For example, a 1099-MISC is how you'd declare side income like royalties or prize money. Im assuming this person files some kind of 1099 to show losses.

The interesting part to me is that (afaik) you're allowed to go to the auction and bid on your own car. And technically, if your car sold for more than you owe + repo fees, they have to give that money back to you (incredibly rare).

  • I'm going to go the other way and recommend The Fifth Season, which is technically a fantasy trilogy but which has won both the Hugo and Nebula awards, because (as if that wasn't a spoiler) it's got a ton of sci Fi in it.

It's basically about people on a planet that keeps dying. They've had to deal with so many apocalyptic events that prepping for the next one defines the entirety of their civilization. If you want a window into the psychology of a society constantly on the verge of destruction, I can't think of a better series.

  • I'm not making an argument, I'm quite plainly asking for names, because the reality is that now is the time for whoever that is to start building a base. 2016 taught us that pure fucking charisma is enough to win an election, and that's what the GOP is going to bank on from now until eternity since it worked for them once.

(And for anyone doubting Trump's charisma, remember that a Sibriex has 25 CHA https://www.aidedd.org/dnd/monstres.php?vo=sibriex)

  • I meant my question literally. If Biden wins 2024, Kamala 2028 feels like a bad decision. If it goes the other way, there's a non-zero chance the Dems are running against trump3, or a trump-like that beats him in the gop primaries, or both.

Whoever the Dems field in 2028 has to start making a name for themselves sooner rather than later, and I'm mostly disappointed the Dems aren't using the primaries as a way to show off that candidate.
