  • I find that the bike lane doesn't exist most of the time, actually.

Like, the lane is just a white line against the edge of the road, and it's just drop off/tall grass on the other side.

  • My thought is that they noticed you get less sick the older the berry/plant is, despite it being poisonous at the start. So, they realized the bad parts were breaking down the longer it existed and thus decided to try and keep it for a long time to get something edible.

  • you should be able to view it wherever you use lemmy. they're all federated

Is it okay to essentially copy a subreddit to lemmy?

  • No. Downvotes can help drive engagement as more people try to understand what was said.

People being downvoted doesnt necessarily mean it is hateful, it could just be incorrect or morally objectionable... it's important that discourse is there, too.

  • I like it - I just want a few Reddit-ish features:

    1. Hiding reply chains for scrolling cleanliness in comments of a post
    2. Hiding posts on the main page should be easy to do (buttons unclear)
    3. Dedicated copy link button - so it's clear I'm copying the link to the page that is being spoken about in a post, rather than a link to the comments of the post itself.
  • this makes literally no sense

How is Biden conscious enough to actively get Trump arrested. I bet he didn't even know what shoes he was wearing until he looked down.

  • While a Pi-hole would work in theory, Ads are just wrapped youtube videos as they come from the same servers. It would be a need of pinpointing each video individually.

My take is that we need uBlock to have a functionality to send data to people's Pi-Hole on a page by page basis.

  • no, it's horrible. and they feel like they can get away with it.

  • Okay, yeah. you're right I think?

  • If I remember correctly, whoever sells domains is essentially giving you an IP they have access to. You're essentially buying 123.456.1.10 and pointing it to abcdefghi.net (domain name). When you buy it, and set it to the domain name you chose, then the seller (go daddy) will update ISP DNS providers and such so that people who type in abcdefghi.net will go to 123.456.1.10, AKA your site.

    I hope that's right XD

  • Smells of a crusting company trying to sit on its laurels and work for itself rather than support its communities.
