I'm surprised, too. Also libreddit and teddit are still working. Looks like both Twitter as well as Reddit haven't shut down the public (unauthenticated) API endpoints (yet).
It's a good idea to have a set of normal (orichalcum) gathering tools on your characters by default so that you just need to double-click on the shared slots to swap the unlimit tools in and out. And you are not "naked" (in front of a orichalcum node) in case you forgot to swap back the unlimit tools on another character.
To me it seems that the Community here is growing slowly but steadily and so far it appears to be a much more friendly place than I remember r/guildwars2 to be.
All (at least one of each on each of my 2 accounts), but most are Female Norn followed by Male Charr and Female Sylvari. The Main on my primary account is a Female Norn Necromancer/Reaper and on my secondary account it's a Female Sylvari Necromancer/Scourge.
Finding good looking (other than heavy) armor for Charr is actually quite difficult. My Charr Ranger is wearing an almost complete set of Accursed Armor which imho is one of the few medium armor sets that works on Charr. What kinda pisses me off about Male Charr is the "new" muffled player character voice and that mounts look generally too small for them. Otherwise Male Charr especially in heavy armor could easily be my favorite characters in the game.
(Guess who is my favorite NPC in the game.)
My Sylvari are wearing mostly racial or Nightmare armor, because I found these to be the only sets which actually fit the race. But then they look awesome.
Finding armor for Asura is also quite difficult. But I noticed that pieces that in my opinion look too flashy or clunky on bigger characters often work quite well on Asura.
From all races I find Human to be the most boring to play Fashion Wars with. I agree with the following statement I remember reading on Reddit a while back:
Norn Females (as opposed to Human Females) look like they actually eat once in a while.
All (one of each), but most are (female) Norn followed by (male) Charr. Finding good looking (other than heavy) armor for Charr is actually quite difficult. My Charr Ranger is wearing an almost complete set of Accursed Armor which imho is one of the few medium armor sets that works on Charr.
This will look terrible witch the 29th slot from purchasing SotO ... haha.
Also, I'm a big fan of account-wide QoL improvements and willing to pay money for them, hence I have the full set of the shared slots, unlimit gathering tools, Copper-Fed Salavage Kit (the silver-fed isn't worth it, use a mystic kit instead), Lounge Pass(es), Material Storage Expansion up to 1K, etc.
Of course the value of account-wide upgrades increases with the number of characters you (actively) play on your account. To me the Shared Slots are a very high priority and I'd buy them before any cosmetic items or BL keys or equipment/build templates from the gem store.
Luckily or sadly (depending on how you see it) most cosmetic armor from the gem store are outfits and not separate pieces which can be mixed and matched. None of my 18 characters is wearing an outfit and none wears a complete set of a particular armor.
You won't even need a full ascended set unless you are going for T4 fractals. And that only because of this (imho stupid) agony resistance mechanic, otheriwse you would be just fine with only/mostly running exotic gear.
We have been advocating for interoperability between platforms for years. The biggest hurdle to users switching platforms when those platforms become exploitative is the lock-in of the social graph, the fact that switching platforms means abandoning everyone you know and who knows you. The fact that large platforms are adopting ActivityPub is not only validation of the movement towards decentralized social media, but a path forward for people locked into these platforms to switch to better providers. Which in turn, puts pressure on such platforms to provide better, less exploitative services. This is a clear victory for our cause, hopefully one of many to come.
... the number of (active) users on r/guildwars2 is managable on a lemmy instance by now.
This would not have been possible a few days ago, but look how smooth lemmy.world runs today.
Not even the Legendary Amulet which you basically get from playing through Living World Season 2, 3, 4 and Icebrood Saga?
