I got the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen three or so years ago for watching movies when away. There was almost no crap pre installed, and what remained I could uninstall.
Av1 and vp9 usually works, there is the occasional file that acts weird. Hevc, whatever the bit depth, resolution or encoding method works flawlessly.
It has a Qualcomm SDM680 processor, it's also available with a less powerful one, but the one I mentioned has definitely enough power to play 4k 10bit TrueHD whatever.
I remember that the camera was nonstop shaking. That in addition to the extremely fast cuts left me sitting in the theatre with no clue what was going on. Never bothered to rewatch it again.
Since I haven't watched TV for years and used an adblocker for so long I actually enjoy normal commercials before a movie out of curiousity. And they are usually hilariously bad. But it's interesting to see what I am "missing" this whole time.
And it helps my small local cinema get additional money which I'm fine with. It's a nice cinema.
1 was advertised as a spiritual successor of System Shock 2, but it only got the atmosphere right. It was just another shooter which disappointed me. 2 was the same more or less. 3 had a fascinating story, but it was still just a shooter. Maybe 4th time will become what I crave for, another immersive sim!
I checked recommended builds in gaming magazines, compared them over two months, swapped parts until I was pretty sure it fit my needs. I posted it here for a last sanity check then, and swapped out the PSU after that. Everything else was fine.
Also read tests regularly, and more than once for the same parts. There are some great testing sites out there.
For me the time I took paid off, in the end the PC was perfectly tailored to my needs.
I find, to this day, the running up skyscrapers, jumping over rooftops 50 meters apart and the flying in this Matrix world extremely satisfying. Also I love the humour. I still revisit this game on a regular basis!
