Good luck!
  • I'm 39 but I had to pay for a new copy of my birth certificate in my 20s because mine was literally falling apart due to just being old and folded up and printed on weird paper and the seal was messed up so the dmv wouldn't take it

I got it from my mom like that :x

  • Bernie Sanders unveils 32-hour workweek bill with no loss in pay for workers
  • I think something people are missing when thinking less work overall will happen is that this gives opportunities for new job openings for at least part time (if not just more full time position) people to fill in the gaps, or the people already working will just get paid much better. Both are wins imo

  • Milker rule
  • Man I really love milk. I used to really crave it, until I was diagnosed with a vitamin d deficiency some years back and started taking it daily, then realized my body was actually craving the vitamin d added to milk. I can tell when I need to start taking the vitamin d because the milk cravings will resume if I'm low

  • Texas Tech DB Tyler Owens says he doesn't believe in space
  • I typically feel like people like this aren't dumb, they're just so incredibly distrustful of authority figures like teachers or scientists or the government that on some level they reject reality and when videos "kinda make sense" or "have some points" about shit we all know is fake, it gives them the ability to choose what they think is correct and because they're already rejecting what they're being told is real by people they don't trust it's really easy to let conspiracies fill in the gap of how it works

  • Worst UI Any% Speedrun
  • My only real gripe with discord (off the top of my head anyway) is that why tf when the "new" button pops up does it just scroll down the server list instead of just actually taking me to the server and the post causing the notification

It doesn't even actually ever go to the right spot on the server list it just goes way down and then I have to usually go back up to get to it

  • The numbers will determine your fate
  • So this is kind of a breakdown of how it works. My 3 credit scores are all in the 800s, I only have one pay fee card and we're likely canceling it soon as we've got other cards that have better cash back deals. Here are a number of things that affect your score:

Using your cards, but not having a big balance on them monthly (we pay ours off, if not completely then the statement balance to avoid interest, but typically we pay them completely if we can)

Not missing any payments (haven't missed a payment in the 12ish years we've had cards)

Not having derogatory marks (credit dings from stuff like not paying debts or repossessions of cars or that sort of thing would hit hard)

Any temporary hits like applying for a new line of credit (cards, loans, mortgages)

Average age of credit (older lines help a lot, it hurts less to close a newer card than an older one)

Number of accounts, they want you to have a lot, over 12 I think is where it really positively impacts your score, and it can hurt you to only have a few

Anyway it's a complex system that's annoying and can be difficult to understand

  • The numbers will determine your fate
  • Because credit is partially based on the age of your accounts, so if you've only got a few accounts and you close an older one (such as a car loan) it reduces the average age of your accounts and can hurt your score.

    It's stupid

  • What game fits this?
  • Nobody builds the spaceship. Nobody I know has ever built the ship, unless they were playing the save our ships mod (I think that's the mod name IDK I don't use that one) but then that's not end game

I just accepted that I will only ever lose and it's fine

  • $3 for a single McDonald's hash brown? Some customers are fed up and pushing back
  • There's this one McDonald's on this busy road where we live and I jokingly started calling the right lane the "McDonald's lane" because so many cars in that lane were always turning in. I realized earlier this week that these days most cars drive past instead.

  • Martin Shkreli's lifetime drug industry ban upheld
  • You don't even know the half of it, he played this MUD I was really into, his character's name was Vanmar, everyone hated him. Maybe a year or so before the pharmacy story broke he got perma banned from the game (oh god I'm gonna skim over a lot here, bear with me) he bought another player's super high skill character for iirc around 5k, went around bullying people who he couldn't take in pvp beforehand, then got the permanent ban for all of his accounts by forcibly role-playing a blowjob in a public area (a boat I think) on some other dudes character.

That was his second perma ban, he bought his way out of the first one, I don't recall how the first one came about.

Anyway, total twat. If you go deep in a search engine for Vanmar and DragonRealms you might find more info buried, a lot of its been lost to time and he bought one of the popular player forums around the game and locked it up so all that info is just lost.

  • The Supreme Court declines to step into the fight over bathrooms for transgender students
  • Cis woman here, I not only have never been afraid of the possibility that a man might enter the woman's bathroom, if I ever encountered a man in the woman's bathroom I'd just assume they accidentally went in the wrong one or maybe it was a dad taking his daughter in or something similarly innocuous.

I really hope all trans women can feel safe one day entering the women's room (and trans men with the men's room) so they can use it in peace. Bathroom policers can fuck all the way off.

  • Sanders warns Biden: address working-class fears or risk losing to demogogue
  • When do we get to blame the shit candidate who lost instead? Bernie didn't ignore and not campaign in multiple states because he thought they were in the bag, that was Hillary. Bernie didn't conspire with the dnc to put up the worse polling candidate because it was "their turn", that was Hillary. Bernie supporters didn't say "we don't need your vote" to the progressive voters, those were Hillary supporters.

This shit makes me want to write Bernie in instead of holding my nose and voting for Biden like I did last time.

  • Bernie Sanders calls on Congress to block funding to Israel
  • It was a lot of stuff. I'm still mad about it. Of the top of my head: they very quickly got rid of polling locations in places he was polling high in multiple states after they realized he was doing well and people were standing in line to vote for over 8 hours, they lied about stupid shit like the fake chair throwing thing they made up to make it sound like anyone on his side were violent, they ignored the caucus rules in Nevada where he clearly won based on video at the time, there was more, but it's been a long time and this are just a few examples that cross my mind on occasion

There have been a handful of times where I wish I had just written it down because I see the "I never saw/ heard about this" line often enough.

The DNC admitted collision in court, what else do you need lol

  • Has google stopped working for finding anything?
  • I had this weird hardware issue with my desktop and I could not find results for it on Google about a year ago, and I had searched for it a bunch of times previously as well and couldn't find anything relevant. My boyfriend searched for it on Google on his computer and found a result with the information we needed and i immediately fixed it.

Guessing my "custom" results were poisoned by something at some time, but it prevented me from finding the answer I needed, and I didn't think to log out at the time.

    Super done with Google tbh

  • Has anyone done therapeutic Ketamine for their depression/anxiety that comes with ADHD?
  • I would add to look into transcranial magnetic stimulation as well, it has an insane rate of success.

I've recently been referred to a major hospital that offers this, ketamine, and electroshock therapy, I'm still waiting to be scheduled but I have a long documented history of treatment resistant depression and the many medications I've tried. I've had severe depression for over 25 years now, I'm exhausted and finally have hope for relief.
