  • The MOST sustainable way to change corporate behavior is to make it prohibitively expensive for them to engage in behavior that is bad for the environment by levying major financial penalties and taxes on the offending corporations.

  • 😂😂😂😂I saw that too and left it because I also found it hilarious.

    • Philip Wadler
    • Simon Peyton Jones
    • Edwin Brady

  • I can see your perspective where you feel that any publicity is good publicity.

My perspective is that Elon is a dangerous force in our society that has managed to buy and lie his way to the top. If I stay quiet while he ruins our technologies, making them more fascist, he’ll gladly do it.

It is my civic duty to expose the same demographic (STEM tech bros) that he methodically targets to the reality of the man: that he’s a charlatan sociopath criminal hiding beneath a Tony Stark mystique.

I dream of a more just world where Elon Musk is locked in federal prison for fraud, insider trading, and the thousands of other crimes he openly commits.

  • I am so glad they finally changed it. This app now has a very decent icon. I have mine in Blue.

Ps. The "Green" icon is actually halfway between primary green and primary blue. Not exactly green, more like Cyan. ;)

  • I only go there to steal content that I then enhance manually. I always had a kneejerk reaction against the hackernews reposts on Reddit. So, I try to make my content cloning less conspicuous and I make sure to enhance the content with more depth when I bring it here.

  • Solved: It was a language settings issue.

  • Lace is my current choice.

They're not quite as advanced as Eternl yet but they're open source while Eternl is closed source (and IMO we should be VERY skeptical of their intentions because of that).

IMO, wallets for an open source, decentralized crypto project should never, ever be closed source. The dev (probably won't but) could just decide to push some malicious code that transfers everyone's funds to another wallet and there's not a damned thing anyone could do about it.

  • It's kind of a ghost town so far. But if we can wrestle control of social media away from corporate control, democracy across the world will be stronger for it. Regardless, I'm here for the long haul, making contributions FAR exceeding my efforts on Reddit.

  • Here's my main axe which consists of a Warmoth one-piece roasted swamp ash body and a Warmoth one-piece vintage style roasted quartersawn maple neck. I did a lot to it after Warmoth machined it but it is SO perfect: 🤌🏼

    • Toyota RAV 4 ($18,000)
    • 2013 Apple Macbook Pro (still looks and works like new $3,700)
    • Rancilio Silvia ($450)
    • 2001 Chevy Prizm (at >200k miles, I actually had to scrap it even though it still ran perfectly due to sensor issues $1800)
    • iPhones (absolutely flawless hardware which keeps getting better with each iteration (~$1,000)
    • Canon 5D MKIII ($3,000)
    • Kemper Profiler (still getting free software updates 12 years into its lifespan $1,800)
    • Fluke 87V (the best meter on earth $400)
    • Synology NAS (though I hear they have been enshittified $2,000)
    • Airizer Argo (still going $300)
    • Nvidia Shield Pro ($300)
    • Aeropress ($30)
    • Orphan Espresso LIDO 2 (will outlast me $195)
    • Warmoth guitars ($5,000 for five guitars)
  • I get that they’ll do it soon. But I wish that would be fixed ASAP. The original one was at least better than that new one which is the worst I’ve ever seen on an app this good.
