  • I'm not sure it's dogma (unless I'm misinterpreting the word). At least, IMHO, it's entitlement.

Kiwi drivers are, generally, incredibly entitled.

Simple things like 'my journey is more important than your saftey, so I will...'

    • run this amber light
    • enter this intersection that I can't exit
    • drive/park over this footpath
    • refuse to make room for someone else indicating a lane change
    • speed
    • refuse to allow a bus to proceed from a stop

To the extreme of 'I'm so frustrated I'll aggressively...'

    • tailgate
    • block you from merging
    • force myself ahead of you to change lanes
    • force that cyclist off the road
    • drench that pedestrian with that puddle

I've been there when I was a youngster, I grew up but many many kiwis don't.

  • How else did anyone think drugs were being imported into NZ?

Somewhat sensational given the article does have a quote pointing out it's not a new nor novel smuggling route.

Having griped that gripe, good on the fuzz for busting a smuggling ring.

Perhaps AIA could improve pay and working conditions for baggage handlers to reduce the efficacy of the smuggler's offers?

  • A registration form and backend that would return the error "please choose more unique password" if you choose a password that was already stored (in plain text) in the database against another username.

    I shit you not.

  • at least these guys have a real garden and compost bin, instead of a vege pod and a hungry bin, which I think are a better indicator of bourgeois affluence.

Part of me is screaming that having enough yard space for a proper garden and compost bin is the better indicator :-)
