That’s not how civil wars work anymore, it’ll be akin to a Balkanization where there are multiple different factions, upstart states, militias and insurgencies. The second will be nothing like the first. The Syrian civil war is a decent smaller scale modern example
Edit: if you’d like a good idea of what it will look like I HIGHLY recommend the fist season of the excellent podcast It Could Happen Here by Robert Evans. It’s from 2019 but wildly prescient
Not so much that he’s a comedian, but the specific comedian he is, I would be much less surprised if say Jon Stewart was in the same position. And I’m not knocking Jimmy it’s just been a really strange journey to get here
Kinda but he’d been dabbling around politics for decades, I remember watching Fox and friends with my super conservative parents when I was in middle and high school and Trump would call in once a week to talk about shit. This is around 2003. Kimmel was always about dick jokes
It’s still fucking with me that a man i first encountered as the introducer of women jumping on trampolines on the Man Show as a horny 11 year old is somehow a relevant character in the end of democracy in the United States
You’re 100% right, those are our circuses, even your namesake loved football. If the NFL and college football stopped overnight there would be a lot of pissed off poor people with nothing to do on the weekends and nothing to look forward to during the workweek. The rage would boil over much more quickly than most would expect
I grew up in a close enough to her district that my hometown might get gerrymandered into it at some point. This is the correct take, and I say that because of how many women I know from the area that are exactly the same. Not the sharpest tools in the shed, hell I’d say among the dullest, but they believe in protecting children above all else.
I don’t like Greene one bit and generally think she’s a bad person, but she does believe in something, which is more than I can say for Trump who only believes that he should have power
Thank you
