  • A lot of them fail to take the next step in logic. Like “I don’t trust the mainstream media.” Ask them who they get their news from. Then ask them, if that was the main news source for everyone, wouldn’t that make them the mainstream media?

  • I went to a free screening of Mixed Nuts in college. I was one of many people who walked out, and I think Steve Martin himself wouldn’t blame me.

I saw Brokeback Mountain when it first came out, and during the first homosexual scene I saw several angry boyfriends dragging their dates out of the theater. I feel like every one of them had a ball cap on.

We didn’t walk out of Ultraviolet, but when we left, the whole theater staff was there to see our reaction to how bad it was. They told me I owed my date dinner.

  • Congress is a little bit of sitting and voting, and a lot of background hustle. If you think about it, it takes an hour or two to vote on a bill, maybe a day to debate it in the floor. The rest of the time is writing bills (or having them written), explaining to people why they should vote for them, making deals to secure votes, or hustling for power. When people say it’s a lot like high school, it is.
