  • The obvious modern comparison for "zany alternate reality" is "The Wedding of River Song".

I'm a little ambivalent so far - the idea can hit or miss depending on whether they can get me invested in what's going on. The cast certainly has the chops for it, and RTD is capable of it, though his track record with sticking the landing need not be discussed here.

  • the Argos are so neglected in the city

I've heard so much about this over the years - since a lot of it has been attributed to the Buffalo Bills being very accessible, I wonder if there will be a spike in interest in the homegrown game given certain global events this year.

  • Reminder: of the preseason games, only Toronto/Hamilton on May 24 and Montreal/Ottawa on May 30 are airing on TSN, and Ottawa/Montreal on May 24 will be on RDS - the rest of them will be on CFL+ (yay, another streaming service...but at least it's free).

I'll probably just catch the highlights in the preseason, but I hope the league's attendance is healthy this year.

I'll stop in on as many Bomber-related threads as I can. Who doesn't love a little heartbreak?

  • I think a couple of the examples used here are a stretch, but this was a really entertaining watch overall - I love a good think piece.

  • I'd like to see more information on what has or has not been done. Improving road access would be a long-term project.

But there's no excuse for not starting.

  • For my money, it doesn't get any more epic than the Abzorbaloff.

  • Chaos and cloister bells? Just another Saturday...

  • Oh for sure, I suppose there's a reason I said absolutely nothing about the story itself. It gets by on vibes, but they're fun vibes

  • Thanks - I find the "reformed" Senate fascinating.

  • Glitches in the video aside, this is pretty interesting. I'll try to replace it with the corrected version when it becomes available.

    Edit: fixed!

  • Perhaps "urban" is the wrong word, but it ain't exactly Cestus III, y'know?

  • As someone who's not familiar with the LA area, it blows my mind that those things are basically in the middle of an urban area.

  • Thank you for sharing - we appreciate any and all first-person accounts of events!

I have to admit, when they first announced the Fan Fest Nights, my initial reaction was that it sounded like it would be kind of cheap and disappointing. But it seems like they did a really nice job of the Trek event, along with some of the others that I've read about (especially Back to the Future).

  • So is the protowarp merely a more powerful version of the warp drive?

That was my takeaway - it's got the power to propel the ship (much) higher into the warp 9.9XXXXX range.

  • It was a tough one, especially under the circumstances. It's a shame they dug themselves into such a deep hole in the series.

  • I notice that they didn’t explicitly mention the ESC by name once in the episode. did they have difficulty getting the rights to that?

Probably - it makes me think of how UNIT no longer refers to the United Nations.

how Kid got into the station in the first place.

I assume he had a ticket. Hellions may be marginalized, but it seemed like they are treated poorly, rather than legally segregated from society.

they’re making bigeneration a general thing

    There's no such thing!
