Digging things up

  • Great, now he's rambling about magnets or something.

  • I tried asking Nepo, but then his face got stuck like

  • Great, now the horses are spooked.

  • I remember reading that what we're seeing lately is a sort of mad dash to churn out as much media as they can before the IP becomes public domain.

  • I've been an avid gamer my whole life, and I can't keep track of the order of their consoles. The most recent Xbox I own is a 360.

  • This does look like something AI would come up with, now that you mention it.

  • Hundreds?! Like those old tiger electronics handhelds?

  • Yeah, it seems like such a predictable way to make the protagonist have "nothing to lose" and allow him to do something crazy without abandoning his family. It's way overdone.

  • It's absolutely slower and different (and I don't rewatch it as often as TOS/TNG), but I think it's unique and fun. Whenever I watch TOS or TNG, I always imagine what it would be like if we followed life on one of the outposts they visit and never show again. Taking place in a fixed location feels more "slice of life" and continuous, at the trade-off of losing the sense of exploration and discovery.

  • I never owned it, but I remember playing it at a friend's house many times as a kid. I love RTS games and hope they're not out of the mainstream for good.

  • What the other commenter said is right - it's referencing a DS9 episode where they went back in time and participated in the classic TOS episode 'The Trouble with Tribbles'. If you haven't seen it yet: they used real footage from the episode, and the editing was pretty impressive. It was a nice homage to the original series.

  • Oh, I forgot about Returnal! I've been needing something to play on PS5 anyway.

  • It looks cool! I'll keep an eye on it for the next time it goes on sale.

  • What's your favorite bullet hell? I was craving one a while back after playing Cuphead, which I know isn't really a traditional bullet-hell, but it has some elements of one.

  • Live-acted cutscenes with actual actors was so unnecessary, but they rocked and really made the games stand out back then.

  • I can assure you the title is tongue-in-cheek for humor. You're reading way too much into it.
