Stock is fine, just make sure you use “RA Game” to play your games. Otherwise they run shitty.

Personally, I’m a big proponent of MinUI. It’s fast, no-nonsense, and just works. If you want to tweak your emulators for hours on end it’s not for you, but if your goal is to just fire up the console and play games it’s perfect.

Super Mario Bros 2 did the one you’re talking about. I think Mario 64 onwards as well. However, the one OP is talking about is common in Half-Life.

AdGuard has a good Safari plugin. There’s also stuff like Consent-o-Matic for cookie popups and Amplosion to get rid of AMP pages (if they’re still a thing - completely forgot about them after installing Amplosion).
