  • Correct. But for the people who don't support Hamas they're not really getting anything either. They're still getting their settlements taken over in the West Bank, continued oppression by drone and outside control, and achieving nothing. At least the supporters of Hamas are getting revenge, they're getting a feeling of fighting back (and keep in mind the life expectancy of the place is low, Gaza is mostly children and teens, who everyone knows are dumb, emotional, and easy to control and abuse. Sorry teens, but it's true, we've all been there.).

In order to undermine Hamas and prove revenge and shit isn't needed, we're going to need Israel to lift the boot a little, and then negotiate with someone who's not Hamas, like the PLO, to achieve not just peace, but a peace without oppression. We've seen this everywhere, from the hood of the US, to the terrorists of the middle east, to the pirates of Somalia, or in the warlord children armies of Africa. People in terrible conditions will, under pressure, become terrible people to survive. Not everyone, but statistically, it happens enough we can't be surprised at the outcome anymore.

  • As long as Israel continues to oppress Palestinians they will support whoever has the strength to fight back. Currently, that's only really Hamas, so I don't think these pics will change the mind of many people on the ground. Especially while they're getting their houses and streets presently bombed by Israel...

  • My high school Spanish teacher said she learned English after immigrating to the US by watching English soap operas like Days of Our Lives and things like that. I'm sure the same could be done but not sure how exactly. It would probably take a lot of active listening.

  • Tbh it probably is. I don't use Reddit much anymore for discussion or news or memes, but when I need the answer to a problem or an opinion on a product or service from actual people instead of an overly long review listicle, Reddit search results are still very useful.

  • I ask my existing friends if they're down for a game, choosing players who I think their personality would match the campaign concept. Even if they've never played before, if they're at least lightly nerdy, I don't work with them, they live within 40 minutes, and have some free time in their schedule, I ask. Then we spend 6 months scheduling a session, spend half of every session trying to remember what happened last time, do that 3 or 4 times until the campaign peeters out because someone's scheduled changes or they move or have kids or something ¯(ツ)

  • Fair enough. I only used the legal language because I hadn't looked into it that much so I didn't want to say something wrong and then have people yell at me that he's innocent or something. But ya, this one sounds pretty bad.

  • I mean, ya, there's a lot of Palestinians there. That's because Israel took their land. There's also a lot of black people in South Africa, even during apartheid, too. But tons of them were still pushed off their homes into tiny strips of land in Gaza and the West Bank, so now the majority are in those other places. The same thing happened to the natives in the US.

IDF don't target civilians explicitly but they also don't seem to care about them. They've killed thousands more civilians than Hamas has with the barest of excuses, all to find Hamas not really caring about collateral. That's what happens when you drop bombs all over the place. And the fear and terror and horrible quality of life causes things like Hamas. Hamas sucks, I'm sure they would kill more if they could, but Israel has the power in this relationship. When non-violent protests lead to killed or getting your knees blown off, or to nothing at all (like most protests for Palestinians have been for the last near century), when there's no hope or chance of growth, the average is 18 and you're probably never going to grow old or successful, then people turn to monsters like Hamas.
