  • None, those all seem and feel fake. It's like pandering, we do it just because society says we're supposed to do it. Those are just hot air moving out persons mouth.

Edit or just addition: "Negative" affirmations seem to be much more effective and honest. Like "hope is just the first step on a road to disappoinment" or "only in death does duty end" or the Fight clubs unique quote.

  • Depends, usually my workplace does organize 2 yearly events. 1 for Christmas and 1 for summer. Both have huge amounts of alcohol available so at least it's possible to make those tolerable.

Christmas one comes with a lottery and some decent prizes as well, though have to wear a suit there.

Summer one usually has a sauna and is on a bigger area so not that bad actually.

    Anything else is kinda unacceptable.

  • That too, even if through some way gaming market crashes completely. There are multiple other branches that will keep Sony afloat.

  • Noup, it's not going to have any effect. Like the other person said. People have already voted with their wallets and will keep voting the same way, because for some reason. Not buying something is completely unthinkable to way too many people.

  • Skill issue

  • I can bet he would be furious when he hears it, which would be hilarious.

  • Fair, it does seem to be a lot less noticable if at all for both channels. So probably just an issue with general slop/low quality content that YT music algorithm feeds.

Though as we are on lemmy, prepare to be shat on for even recommending that AI might be used for making something decent.

  • Skill issue

  • Yeah fair, nut still "git gud" and "skill issue" are nice terms which should be used more often in real life as well.

  • Love [Rule]

  • I thought about that one, but that would be expected. Other one would be a nice surprise.

  • Love [Rule]

  • I'd argue that love must be taught as well or at least shown as an example by caretakers. There are forms of toxic love or one sided love or people struggling to figure love out or whatever they are in love or even countless lectures/research/discussions on what is love?

  • Same, other downside of it is that YT music starts to recommend AI generated music at this point, cracked Spotify stopped working. While i might not recognize AI generated pictures, i can actually recognize AI generated music. It's like if I've heard one AI generated song per genre, I've heard them all.

  • Skill issue

  • Kinda curious does the same principle apply in other aspects of life?

Like in career when women gets to some higher position than a dude or when lifting weights and a women lifts more than some guy.

Wondering because i could expand the "skill issue" into so many new fields and just piss off quite a few guys.

  • I usually get off rather easily with that one, though oddly it's one of those things I've learned to detect in me rather well. Just the racing heart, blushing and sweaty palms/all over actually.

There are rare times when fast/shallow breaths, choking feeling and the strong need to run away comes , but thats rare enough that i haven't truly figured out what migh be the exact cause, i guess it might be people related.

Just pushing through and afterwards giving it time for the heart rate to slow down is enough to dissipate it.

  • Yeah I'm fully aware it's not the best approach, but it does help in limiting the damage and having enough willpower/energy to do something when there's a slight chance of actually effecting some change. Otherwise just the scale of it will grind down any single individual and spit out a burned up husk.

So cant completely turn off everything, but at least limit it significantly. Yes there are people suffering in Africa or middle East or south America or north America or even Europe or Asia, but there isn't much i can do about it and being constantly bombarded with overwhelming amount of negative information just feeds the helplessness feeling and erodes away the will to do anything. Which is kinda crucial when there is actually something that can be done.

Bigger events will seep through the filter anyway and generally that's good enough to get the rough idea of what's happening. Aka like war in Iran started up again, but at the same time theres no point to start looking up videos of how many kids got blown up this time or any more specifics about it. Though once every 2-4 years or local equivalent of election cycle kinda have to crawl out under the rock to see where things have been heading and who might be able to slightly nudge towards the opposite direction.

Of course one can become more active even by just organizing local rallies or finding like minded individuals around themselves, but once again it has a limited effect and works just on a local sacle, it will not have any immediate effect what's happening on the other side of the planet or becoming Luigi, but that does require opportune moment and nothing to lose/no one depending on you.

Basically limiting information flow and choosing which battles to fight, instead of getting overwhelmed with the sheer amount of negative information and trying to fight all the battles all the time and subsequently completely burning out.

  • What? You sure you don't have a concussion? You're not making much sense. Did you let the doctor check you over?

  • "sry i tripped and fell and accidentally knocked myself out"

Yeah sure it's kinda embarrassing to admit it, but shit happens. Accidents will always happen.

  • Let it out, let the hate flow through you.

  • I used the "cover your ears and sing" tactic. Basically turning off news and retreating into my own little bubble and just trying to maintain that in functional order as this is the only thing i can have at least some control over.

Beyond major events that seep through regardless, i have no idea whats going on. Which is kinda bad now that I'm on lemmy as this place doesn't have my countries specific sub/instance so i have no idea what's going on in my own country as well, but at the same time i really don't want to be constantly blasted with the worst shit happening across the world. I already have issues with being too negative and cynical.

I doubt that human brain, NT or ND, has evolved to keep up with modern news cycle that collects worst news across the world and just blast you 24/7 with it.

It's like the modern news cycle is designed to make a person feel bad by showing them things they can do almost nothing about, while hiding things close by that they might have at least some effect over.

  • I assume it's referring to The Sims game interactions. When two characters would talk to each other and one of them said something that the other didn't like, then it showed a rather similar sign above their head and some status bar went down.

  • That's a lot to deal with. How you're handling it?

  • Honestly thats rather good to know, thank you.Yeah it did recover over the weekend, but as the student went under other person i returned to my regular barely talking state.
