The president of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos, son of the former dictator Ferdinand Marcos. He was vice president since 2016, and then was elected president in 2022.
Also Duterte was notorious for extra-judicial killing of poor people that may or may not be involved in drug trades/consumption. So another reason to not praise him.
Caroline Yadan est une députée Renaissance, revendiquée de "centre". L'image est dans l'ensemble applicable sur leurs discours habituels, mais dans le cas présent on est sur la partie en bas à gauche : "both sides are equally bad".
"Un mouvement d'extreme droite est dissolu pour cause d'antisémitisme, donc ils faut dissoudre l'opposition de gauche parce qu'ils sont aussi antisémites" (???)
Their current president was Duterte's vice president, so yeah we shouldn't praise him.
It should be obvious to anyone that has ever read a Wikipedia page relating to geopolitics.
So the spelling is irregular, so what. You’ll be bad at spelling for a while.
People mostly learn languages by reading.
having to memorize arbitrary gender for every noun in the language, learn complex verb conjugations, polite and impolite forms and make every verb and adjective agree with the nouns in gender and number
If you mess those up, people will still understand you. Saying "un chaise" instead of "une chaise" doesn't change the meaning and everyone knows what you're saying.
However, if you learn english words through text and then try to use them vocally, nobody will understand you. (looking at you "beard", who isn't pronounced at all like "bear" for some reason)
There is absolutely no correlation between spoken and written english, so in practice it's the same as having to learn two languages at once. Even adult native speakers still aren't sure how to pronounce simple 1 syllable words such as "route" or "vase", that's pretty telling how confusing that language is.
Coucou. :)
C'est rigolo, je ne vois aucun commentaires sur les posts de cette communauté depuis lemmygrad. C'est lié au fait que la re-fédération est récente ?
Ah fuck, sorry your platform got shit on. I hope I'll become a good Lemmist.
Well, that's new.
Anarchism is a sub-ideology of communism that seeks to abolish all kind of unjustified hierarchy, including capitalism. It's the farthest left ideology.
"Anarcho-capitalist" is a strange concept that's very recent and only seem to exist in the USA, that tries to reimagine feudalism in the industrial age, meaning that very rich people are free to have their own army and own massive area of land, where people living there will subjected to the laws of that lord, with no possibility to remove them through voting. It really doesn't have anything in common with anarchy.
You can read more on the wikipedia page, it seems to be pretty good.
UK politicians never really seem prepared for anything tbh
That's correct, specifically a state that uses tanks against its people in revolt.
However, people on Reddit (and on Lemmy now) basically use it to refer to any leftist they have a disagreement with.
Could you expand on that? What was the content of the surveys and what where the difference? And where does he state that?
I don't know about you, but I would rather live in a country with an authoritarian and oppressive government that takes care of its citizens, instead of an authoritarian and oppressive government that oppresses its citizens to protect landlords and corporations profits like I do now.
So when she said 1.6GB of litterature, it was basically two audiobooks. That'll show them how litterate she is for sure lmao
Who here says genocides are cool and good actually
I say that Mao's landlords genocide was pretty neat actually. Please don't tell the libs.
I'm so happy I can be a part of this historical moment.
Your fear mongering is this:
The Cold War is in full effect, and it heating up to armed conflict is seeming more likely over the next decade.
It's not fear mongering, it's reality.
