Christmas stuff shows up in August where im at. You'll have a few aisles of Halloween and a couple Christmas. Its been this way since about 2015 or atleast thats when I noticed it as I was working retail at that time. Lots of people give me shit for not celebrating Christmas until mid December. Its not really magical if we're just gonna celebrate it half the year.
America is pretty unique in size. If you're used to shorter trips even overestimating wouldn't be half the drive through america. Especially Europeans as a long drive is anything over 20m when its measured in hours they're considering booking accommodations for sleep and such. The perception of time is incredibly different.
Sitting quietly in a room for hours at a time literally doing nothing. I once got curious and just sat in my living room for around 10h straight because I wanted to see what my living room and neighborhood was like at night. Im talking no phone, TV, or anything else just me sitting alone staring off chilling.
Fun fact: I average 3 cars an hour over night in my neighborhood and we aren't really a busy neighborhood off a couple side streets too. Some of the cars leave then come back a few minutes later. Probably drug dealers or something.
I just found all my old burned CDs including the folder of them I made for my spouse. I can't believe those songs won her over lol, but 20 years later here we are.
I'll be dead honest, you have a kinda unique situation but I think the advice would be the same either way. You should ask especially since you had that illness and you gotta start somewhere plus if you have a solid relationship with him then it'll make it even better! Its certainly a unique situation where there's many approaches you could take but it all boils down to simply asking but also maybe give him the option to say no and hold no bad blood because it can be awkward amongst family members sometimes. If he says no it may not be personal maybe he likes the already established relationship balance you guys have.
Happy to see you building your strength in all aspects of your life! Keep going pushing on!
Plus, we will hold on to some percentage of technical knowledge that will help us adapt faster.
You're running off the assumption that the survivors know useful information and that theyre also able to utilize that useful information plus be able to source needed materials since they wont have travel
Example: I know I need an antibiotic for my infection but I dont know how to create that antibiotic or how to guide someone on how to make it. If I did know id also have to get lucky that the region I live in has all the materials needed to make it. We source all around the world for our stuff.
Likely humanity will survive but probably wont advance as fast as you think.
Nah, there's already enough to try and keep up with no need to add to the pile. If its friends I might just comment why I dont. I wouldn't expect them to change though if they didnt care.
I personally really like self checkout. Even with a full cart im in and out significantly faster than most everyone else. I dont get how people get tripped up at them but my god Is it so many. I would like to have the option to remove something I accidentally scanned without needing someone though. We finally got passed the bag scale issues this is the next hurdle!
As a side note I only do self check with a full cart because im a late night shopper I would never in a million years do it during busy hours.
What are you talking about? Its not outrageous at all. There's countless stories of exactly this happening and yes others have provided proof some even have videos about it im sure.
Ive just downloaded and played with it a very little. Do you have an community put together yet so we can direct conversations and such to there? All the big name apps for lemmy do it and makes prioritizing things a little easier as the community votes on posts and such.
I know this is going to generate hate but, I just cant care anymore. She's a genuine POS who won't be missed but its my one single escape from reality. Im far to exhausted trying to tiptoe around everyone who's a POS. I'd say I'll stay at home but my builders were probably a POS too and I gotta go sell my house to make SOMEONE happy. If others wanna get her canceled and by some magic remove everything shes ever done from existence I'll make sure not to get upset but Im done being asked to be a soldier in every battle against a bad person.
This is what happens when politicians create laws and never revisit them to make corrections. Im a pretty tall person and i was on a dealship lot walking amongst the trucks and the amount of them I couldn't even see over was terrifying. How much bigger do these need to get before they start classifying them as big rigs?
Exactly all this! Man, its like sitting on an uncomfortable chair but with my hands. I spend more time googling where something is or how to turn a setting off. It's awful.
That's absolutely ridiculous. He was doing his part in trying to keep her calm and trying to help defuse the situation. To be mad that he noticed a problem starting to boil over and handled it is insane. A partner helps in exactly these situations. Its not us vs ourselves. The issue can be addressed after. Why risk getting thrown off
The only reason this can be even slightly true is strictly because of age. We are ALL burnt out. They will be where millennial are in just a few years. We gotta stop this gen VS gen nonsense.
That number is still SIGNIFICANTLY less than those who won't do anything. Us using ad blockers doesn't even account for a percentage of what they rake in from those without them.
