  • They should just fly these people in a circle, land them back at the same airport and send them to a nearby hotel with a cheap restaurant.

Then repeat the process when you "fly" them home.

  • Here Lies Hudson’s Bay Company, Murdered by Private Equity the same greed it was born from

As an indigenous person who grew up under the shadow of this company. As a boy, I saw my trapper father trade his last furs with the company just before the fur trade industry collapsed in the late 70s. Even as a boy I saw how much work my parents put into processing a dozen furs in exchange for not much money. And this had happened to my family for generations!!!

HBC was made possible by directly exploiting indigenous people for 300 years. They basically owned the land where my family lived. Which meant they could do business in whatever way they wanted with my ancestors. They bought furs for the cheapest prices that could barely sustain the lives of the people they paid. Then resold the furs for enormous profit in Europe. They did that for almost 200 years without any regulation or control which meant it built them one of the biggest corporations in the world ...... all In the backs of indigenous people who had nothing much to live on.

Fuck the HBC ...... it's a beautiful thing to see that terrible name taken down and destroyed.

  • Does this mean we are trying to aim for the darkest timeline?

If so, I'm looking forward to serving under Evil Abed

  • MY EYES!!!!!!! ..... HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO LOOK!!!!!!! ....... IT BURNS!!!!!!!!

  • Underqualified! .... when the leaders debates were happening, we compared a bunch of metrics between them all for ourselves at home for fun.

All the leaders had university education and even business and corporate experience.

Ford? ... he barely graduated high school ... attended two months of college and dropped out!

Now he's in charge of an entire province! Canada's largest, wealthiest province!

  • Up to now, the incompetence has met with loss of money, inconvenience and quite a bit of fear and uncertainty.

The longer this incompetence lasts, especially now that hurricane season is about to start ... expect this government incompetence to start costing lives ... lots of lives. Not just from the immediate consequences of serious natural events happening but from the lack of or delayed or mismanaged actions that will happen when relief and rescue efforts will be required to saved lives.

Everyone shrugs off the stupidity right now because it isn't hurting or killing people .... that's going to change in the next few months and expect the US to start getting severely damaged and destroyed, with no help or adequate recovery in sight.

  • The thing is .... if the government is so sure of their actions, beliefs and rhetoric, than any criticism shouldn't matter to them. Their arguments and statements should be so sure and based on fact that there would be no strong argument against them.

But the fact that they can't take any criticism means that everything they're planning on doing is based on very undemocratic and illegitimate reasons that they have a very hard time defending.

Thanks Ontario for voting away our democratic right to dissent and disagree.

We northerners and native communities are the first to lose out .... but eventually, everyone everywhere in Ontario will lose.

  • Are you kidding? Dad could have his jacket torn off by hurricane force winds and he'd still be rocking that hot pink T-shirt to block the rest of the storm.

And his son could survive a cold front on the north face of Everest with a hot jacket like that.

  • And to Indigenous people here in the north, it's clear to us that our fellow neighbours in southern Ontario are just fine with that.

  • Years ago, it was the same here in Canada. 30/40 years ago it was all just listed as 'drunk indian was killed' and the excuse was often just a brawl, accident, unfortunate event caused by alcohol abuse. These days it's not so prevalent or obvious .... fewer people being killed ... but more being beaten, abused or taken advantage of. Hotels/Motels in northern towns often have 'Indian sections' in them where native people are booked to keep them relegated and controlled, even if you are a clean cut Native person with a family and children.

  • That was part of military doctrine back then

You'd run onto the battlefield and when you saw some guy with a big feather hat, puffy shoulders, a dress, bright colours, fancy dress shoes, garters on their legs covered in tights ... you'd break out in laughter and roll around on the ground as Mr Fancypants stabbed you.

  • Fuck .... this makes me laugh and cry at the same time ... I really, really, really wish they had done more with his character or even built an entire series with him. So much lost talent it's frustrating.

  • Ken Hotate!

They killed Ken Hotate .... the fuck is going on with the US

This is so freaking sad ... I'm Indigenous in Canada and I loved seeing his character in Parks and Recreation.

I just browsed through this Facebook page and just this past February he proudly announced and showed pictures of marrying his gay partner.

Jonathan Joss was Two Spirited and he was just starting to project that in public ... it's so sad because now it makes me wonder what role all that identity played in his killing.

Fuck America ... you can be so beautiful and great while being so terrible and ugly at the same time.

  • In an adventure that takes him from one Taco Bell franchise to another across the American South until he gains 200lbs and early onset diabetes

  • I think they just hold up the stale unused loaf, even place it on display .... never touch, taste or eat it ... and tell themselves and everyone else how delicious it is.
