In Greek mythology, Prometheus was punished for stealing the fire from the gods by being tied to a rock and having his liver eaten by an eagle, only to have it grow back overnight to be eaten again the next day. It's essentially a never ending cycle of punishment (though he was rescued at some point in the story IIRC).
My oldest piece of tech would probably be my C64 or maybe an old camera I have. But the one that I'm actually proud of is my car, a Mercedes W124 from 1988. It'll be hard to find a bolt on that car that I haven't touched and I'm finally getting it where my even my perfectionist self is happy with the way it looks and drives.
Holy fuck, I had no idea. I just checked the prices online and they are absolutely insane. Why is it so expensive? I got the game and the console for like 20 Euros about 10 years ago. It's not in great condition though.
Edit: Oh, it's just so expensive because of this video? That's pretty crazy.
Most likely not. And even then, it would be very hard to prove which model was used to generate an image. Nobody has the resources to deal with this at scale.
This would have far reaching consequences way beyond Stable Diffusion. Most larger commercial models are based on some version of it, so it would mean trouble for DallE and Midjourney as well. SD would still be around in some form, because it is impossible to shut down all the merges and versions floating around the internet. It would also be a herculean task to attempt to prove if any of these models contain copyrighted material.
To be fair, they were pretty ahead of the competition when it came to the hardware specs of their phones. The Lumia 950 released in 2015 and had a 1440p AMOLED screen, 3GBs of RAM, biometric unlocking with an iris scanner, and a pretty incredible camera for the time. It also had a removable back cover and battery as well as an AUX port. It was also the first phone I'd seen with USB-C and wireless charging.
Just listing these makes me a bit nostalgic for WP...
The one game that doesn’t deserve to be on this list is Crime Boss: Rockay City. It may not be great but it has some decent mechanics and you can feel that the devs really poured their heart into a game that was extremely ambitious for such a small studio.
And Skull Island: Rise of Kong deserves at least a honorable mention. The only reason it’s not in the list is that not enough professional reviewers bothered with the title. The Metascore of 23 would earn it first place.
Probably because being on a list of names is not proof of any wrongdoing or crime but will most definitely be interpreted as such by people on the internet.
It's pretty cool how they documented the design change. I thought the 2013-2023 version looked the best but I gotta admit that the new one looks pretty slick when it's combined with the cover art.
