  • You're using an ad hominem fallacy by saying the messenger is the problem and not refuting the evidence itself.

The USA is banning tiktok because it can't control the platforms messaging in case misinformation is being spread in the USA. Why is it that China can't also control the spread of this misinformation? Feels like you might be a chauvanist 🤷‍♂️

  • The main reason global markets aren't absorbing the demand is sanction on chinese produced goods. But anyhow it will be interesting to see how the renewable energy boom picks up steam. Jupiter 1 hydrogen gas generator engine is a pretty huge milestone.

  • China installed 181 GW of solar power capacity from January to October 2024. It's installing about 200 GW of solar every year. In about 20 years we will have so much renewable energy and renewable storage mechanisms that oil will no longer be a reason for wars. In 100 years from now generative AI might exist and humans will be on Mars. Everything I do that's constructive for the world, that isn't exploitative, keeps these positive developments progressing however slowly so that future generations of humanity will not know our suffering.

  • Right. The UK it will be a challenge for sure. Any western democracy that's stuck due to the nature of its governance system indeed. BRICS countries OTOH are some of the fastest installers of solar. Maybe we're looking at a mean regression for the west.

  • I can set up 20 GW of solar panels to match the capacity of a 4 GW nuclear power plant. And I can set up 20 GW of PV in a year. China installs about 30 GW of solar capacity in a quarter.

It takes about 8-10 years to build a nuclear power plant. In 8 years, I could have installed the equivalent of 8 nuclear power plants using Solar PV that it would take me to build one nuclear power plant.
