  • In a social media post on Sunday, Atwood said since the literary classic is no longer suitable in Alberta’s schools, she has written a short story for 17-year olds about two “very, very good children” named John and Mary.

“They never picked their noses or had bowel movements or zits,” she said in the beginning of her story.

“They grew up and married each other, and produced five perfect children without ever having sex.”

My gawd I love this woman! What a story!! 🤣🤣

  • Once again, I'm GOING to sound hateful, even though I harbor no actual hate

Yeah, you do. Judgementalism is hateful.

How about you sit down and really consider your own fallibilities, weaknesses and self-centredness before pointing fingers at anyone else.

  • Studies have since shown that the Aug. 5, 2015, Gold King spill had little long-term environmental impact because the water already contained so many heavy metals from runoff and other mines. Locals hope the federal Superfund cleanup process will improve water quality in the Animas River basin so that it will be cleaner than before the Gold King incident.

    Jfc. :/

  • Part of the agreement with the UN is that the host country for its headquarters allows all heads of state to address the annual gathering.

The Palestinian Authority "stressed that this decision stands in clear contradiction to international law and the UN Headquarters Agreement, particularly since the State of Palestine is an observer member of the United Nations," the Palestine Mission to the UK posted on X.

I guess the UN should shutter its headquarters in NYC then, seeing as the orange pond scum has decided he rules the world.

  • Shane Rayman, a founding partner of Toronto-based law firm Rayman Harris LLP, said Craft Kingsman’s claim is not only “one of the largest claims” he’s seen in his 25 years in expropriation law, but it’s also unusual because the company didn’t legally own the air rights Metrolinx expropriated.

Craft Kingsmen acknowledges this in its claim but argues it was the “beneficial owner” of the air rights. It reached an agreement to buy them from the Canadian National Railway Company (CN) and The Toronto Terminals Railway Company Limited (TTRC) for $78.7 million in 2018. It then deferred closing the deal and making the payment twice, so it had not completed the purchase by the time Metrolinx expropriated the air rights in 2021 and 2022.

It's not surprising that Drug Fraud has scummy 'friends' whose favourite pastime seems to be scamming Toronto.

Time for him to be booted from office.

  • Greentheonly, the hacker who helped recover the data in the Miami case, continues to probe Tesla Autopilot computers from a basement workshop strewn with circuit boards and soldering equipment.

That work is only becoming harder, he said, as Tesla is tightening the controls over access to vehicle crash data. “If an accident happened today like this, I won’t be able to extract the data,” he said.

  • For better or worse — better for the companies, worse for the people who work for them — the oilsands industry has come a long way on that front. Suncor’s announcement this past June that all of the ore at its signature base plan was now being moved by more than 100 autonomous haulers is yet another example of the extent to which the business of oil and gas extraction is being de-manned. If you’re wondering why the industry and its political proxies spend so much time attacking Ottawa, it’s because they don’t want Albertans looking too closely at who’s actually responsible for the jobs being lost. A hundred autonomous haulers working around the clock represents several hundred well-paid jobs that no longer exist — and are never, ever coming back.

  • Hines said volunteers were trained to hit the streets with pre-determined questions. But some additional data they wanted was not made available by Manitoba Justice and Child and Family Services.

I'd be interested to know what info they weren't allowed to collect was.
