  • I am not sure if it's complete or not. I don't know too much about it, just that it was recommended to me and the premise sounds interesting.

Alright cool thanks, I have added that to my list as well.

  • That was definitely my experience buying a car a few months ago. My car was totaled so I had to buy a replacement unexpectedly. I was seeing used cars with 30,000-50,000 miles selling for more than MSRP and new cars were very hard to find. I ended up buying a new car that was less expensive than the used cars I was looking at and ended up getting a much lower APR due to the fact that it was a new car.

  • I prefer silver jewelry (on myself at least), but for furniture type things gold is alright.

  • Ah cool, I have subscribed to it as well! Thanks!

I have not yet, and I have seen it on a few lists, so I will have to check it out, thank you!

  • Glad to hear it has a satisfying end. I have been quite enjoying the series so far. I need to figure out what I am going to read next, as I'm nearing the end of Cradle. I am thinking of starting the Revelation Space series by Alastair Reynolds, as I usually like to go back and forth between fantasy and sci-fi, but I'm always open to recommendations.

How do you like it so far? The Discworld series is my personal favorite, so I am always happy to see people getting into it! If you are enjoying it, you should check out !discword@lemmy.ml.

  • I don't live in the UK, but for those of you that do, you can get some Discworld stamps.

  • I am currently reading Reaper, book 10 in the Cradle series by Will Wright. So far enjoying the series.

Also on re-reading Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett for my endless Discworld re-read.

  • This works very well, I have yet to run into a site that is broken on FF/LW, they just want a chrome user-agent for whatever reason.

  • Yeah, the DBD community is pretty bad.

  • I switched because Microsoft just keeps getting worse and worse, and I like having complete control over my system. And limiting the amount of my data going out.

Linux in general uses much less system resources than windows, and I like being able to easily change my workflow (desktop environment, window manager, etc).

  • I came here to say that as well. Or, as @vd1n says, mushrooms. It really helps remind you that the world is wondrous, and even after it's over, it makes it easier to see the joy in everything.

  • As a child my first introduction to Terry Pratchett was the wee free men as an audiobook, and then a few years later some kind person recommended Mort to me, which I loved. It took me a while to figure out that my beloved childhood Tiffany Aching books were the same as the new Discworld series that I had discovered.

  • Fixed rate fine based penalties for "crimes" really bother me. Not that I have a better solution, but that is inherently unfair.

  • Yeah, the maintenance can be a pain, but it does add value, and it is pretty satisfying to improve things.

  • That is true, I do quite like that rule.

  • My favorite is the Hogfather adaption. I don't know that it's the best, but it is a very fun Christmas tradition.

  • I did not know there was a Johnny and the bomb adaptation. Thank you for bringing that to my attention, I will have to go check that out!

  • Hah, that is very accurate.

  • Renting a house/appartment vs. owning is a pretty big one, same with renting vs owning most things.

Nice tools vs cheap tools. It really does seem to be everything, from clothes, to tools, to food and healthcare.

    GNU STP.

  • Do it! Linux is great, and not nearly as hard as its reputation suggests.
