  • Kamala Harris sucks. Does anyone really consider Harris a POTUS contender besides maybe herself? She's stiff and boring as a figurehead, and infuriating when I remember how she built most of her career. I sincerely hope she just goes away by 2028.

  • You think the average human can just "choose" whatever life they want? Just get up one day and be like, "you know what? I'm going to save up for a horse and buggy." That's not a possibility for the vast majority of people. Go to the YouTube channels featuring people who HAVE made that switch in life and it's usually people who had a lot of money, time, and independence before they made the decision.

I know you probably have very decent intentions when you say this, but the lack of depth in consideration around how much actual freedom of movement people have is just really frustrating that it borders on victim blaming. Most people simply cannot do what you're making sound like it's a choice like flipping a light switch. It's not.

Even making simple changes in lifestyle can be challenging. What is up and down? A well educated person might still be confused as we had decades of a recycling industry that was basically non-existent, corporate interests intentionally confusing, and a whole corner of the public discourse outright lying to people about reality. It's extremely challenging and often very expensive to choose the more environmentally conscious items when buying food and basic needs. Most people don't have public transit options, can't afford an EV, or don't even have access to better options for what they buy either way.

This problem is way more complicated than you're making it and the fact yours is a common position on social media is extremely tiring. It's also just a lazy take that is akin to yelling at traffic while you yourself are part of it. So I hope you at least counted yourself when you made that comment.

  • The biggest takeaway for me was the timeline of his career, which made me realize the dude is only 44. I don't know why, but I always pictured him as being much older. Perhaps that electrician job really took a toll on him.

  • The Constitution itself would suggest he's already barred from running. I am just hoping someone takes this up and actually challenges it in the courts well ahead of time. Disqualification comes the moment you're even brought to trial on sedition charges. This was incorporated language following the Civil War as there otherwise would have been too many people to disqualify individually through the litigation process ahead of future elections.

This article does a good job explaining this provision within the 14th Amendment: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/10/us/trump-jan-6-insurrection-conservatives.html

  • You don't personally get to change the definition for something in your own head and then get mad at everyone else for not going along with your interpretation. That's not how reality works and all you're doing in the process is just pissing people off.

  • Yeah this is the worst kind of example of behavior. A person who is themselves extremely offensive towards others but sees themselves as a beacon of moral superiority. It's actually borderline dangerous and I feel like more and more people are bevaving like this.

  • Where did you draw the connection that "reee" has anything to do with autism? Like most things in reality outside of TikTok, It has absolutely nothing to do with autism. Nobody has to change their behavior simply because someone misinterprets something. If it is genuinely punching down, then sure I get it, but this isn't an example of that. It's just a screeching angry frog sound meant to depict people overreacting about anything.

  • I think a dangerous trap we fall into is assuming that Trump is the mastermind at all. Hitler didn't rise to his position without a lot of things falling into place by a lot of people whose best interest it was in that he ascend. Stopping Trump sets this process back, but the whole organization of politicans, journalists, and business leaders who support him need to be held accountable as well.
