"thrust into an environment full of weapons" what? why was Oxford full of weapons? Or do they mean the typical medieval carrying around multiple weapons in your inventory type?

Fun idea. You mean like the expansion of the universe is going 0.5 light speed at the edge of the void, so the spreading void is basically pulled back right? And then any photons that reached us from just before this void are traveling a tiny bit faster I guess? Being just outside the void?

Today is my "day off" which i use to finish my phd thesis and for some reason im feeling on top of things and focused, which is nice. Could be new medication, could be more exercise, could just be random. Wife is having a terrible migraine though, that's a bit sad to see.

I did notice that one we talked about vacuum cleaners or something, we got some ads about that. Weird i guess. But 90% of the time with household stuff like that its: research something (and start getting ads), buy something and keep getting ads for another month. And companies are posting top dollar for those ad- companies and their algorithms???

Yeah I've got ads for very weird, retiree, conservative dad shirts a lot a while back, with text like "dad: I fix things and like cars" or something dumb like that.

I'm in my thirties, European, super left, don't like/never wil have kids. Wtf?

(By the way algorithms those facts are just a present, see what you wanna do with it)

Seeing how 90% of the ads I get are reeeeeally missing the boat, they might already be over- harvesting my data?

The Dutch "Avondshow met Arjen Lubach" did a funny piece on this. A lot of people are laughing at the US, or it ultra-conservative parts at least, but it's a bit sad that's it's so bad, to be honest.

If doing nothing is already an improvement, this must be a whole other level. It's forreal super cool to hear this, but there I'm wondering how sustainable this type of action is with opposing right wing politicians. I mean, it feels kind a no brainer that this is the right thing to do, but the previous administration apparently got away with some other views?
