Hmm,

  • that's actually extremely cool. i'd much prefer working in a building whose architecture evokes something real, and not the religious fart-huffing of the corporate marketing class

  • if gay marriage had any relationship to the actions of NATO, why would it have member states where it is not legal? why would NATO be hostile to the Republic of Cuba, a country where it is legal?

  • i'm told there was a really tight squeeze period followed by liquidation

  • wait, your top_[time] sorts are actually working? no fair!

  • you can freeze pesto into cubes in an ice tray for future use

  • Mango Press become Mango Juice

i'm sorry if this is how you found out

  • not really worth litigating about the accuracy---like it probably is in fact close, and its unlikely intended as caricature in a biopic i imagine is laudatory.

the problem is the decision to do it all while being aware of the trope & the fact many other things about the film's depiction will be inaccurate. if there was an overwhelming artistic reason to have the player look so much like the real guy a different actor(s) shouldve been cast.and if Cooper was so good at acting like him, if he was the perfect casting choice--- he wouldnt need extra illusion to sell it

  • i dont think people should use prosthetics to look like real people in biopics, period. it's a dumbass idea even when there aren't racist connotations.

  • Try it

  • i'd also love to read a post about this, i remember first hearing about rewards cards for rich people on like, Cracked, and it was surreal finding out how much rich people get for free

  • "today i'll vote for the 'non-intervention' candidate from a party not in executive power"

  • prior to Pearl Harbor german warships had attacked 5 US navy vessels and over 100 US merchant marine vessels. the nazis declared war on the US 4 days after Pearl Harbor. the fact is that Nazi Germany was waging undeclared war on the US for the better part of a year, and indeed were the ones to formally declare war too. this is not an apt comparison to contemporary events.

  • well if everyone placed their first strike capability behind a rearmament period, it'd still be mutual. but this'd require the US to give up their first-strike capability, which is why disarmament has never been close to happening. in fact, i think one of the quickest routes to a US president getting coup'd assassinated would be to try to disarm.

the pentagon really really really wants to nuke everyone and they're held in check by the somehow less bloodthirsty presidents & the retaliatory capabilities of other powers.

  • school shooter identities: Nazis, Incels

    socialists on the internet?

  • they're probably talking about that tweet between an indonesian & an estonian which we've referenced around here lol which isn't a belief we actually hold it's just a hilarious dressing-down of a racist by another

  • wouldn't a really sensible half-way to nuclear disarmament be the monitored separation of warheads and missiles? like everyone keeps them separate and it'd take a few days to get them operational, but nobody is actually 'naked' or disarmed. no power would be able to invade and secure your weapons stores conventionally before you'd be able to put them back together, but the risk of accidents & preventable escalation would drop substantially if there was this in-between step

  • very confused, is this a bug or does that comm have basically no upvotes? i'm seeing the highest at 3? how'd that get on anyone's feed?

  • big mistake ig passing the "NCR hate you" quest without finishing stuff in NCR territory i wanted to do. i thought a disguise would keep it chill but some MFs can just see through it? absurd.

  • now have 'horrible pun from Abraxiel on Hex Bear Dot Net' on my wishlist. observing with eager anticipation
