  • "I want to train your child to become the ULTIMATE CONTENT CREATORRR"

  • What do you mean? Negative or constructive criticism? Negative votes?

Hardship is a part of life. That goes to criticism as well.
I am willing to take risks of bad feels for the sake of trying to make places more active. Luckily I've been doing much better than what I first anticipated!
    No pain, no gain.

  • I think we should cherish commenting too.

Creating posts is not the only way of making engagement. Even though it's better than having a community of 0 posts, I still would be sad to look at a community that has one new post daily but doens't get any votes or comments.
Within time not getting engagement can become demoralizing to the content creator. Why bother if you don't get anything in return? (Been there, felt that - and in many occasions.)

  • .

    • If you get a million views in YouTube, can you gain a small income through that?
    • Can you partner up with other names/creators to raise awareness/visibility to your own name/work?
    • Sometimes you need to keep standing your ground. Explain how it is and if they don't believe you, ignore them.
    • Do you wish to get money? Is this a hobby?

    .

I think it depends how a post you create is doing. What the community you choose is, what is its activity, what kind is your post, what materials you use (text, images etc)...
To my knowledge (of one month), it's easier to get any sort of engagement (being it likes or comments) from one cute or sad comic image than from sincere, deeper discussion of whatever topic.
We are fighting against people's time. How should they use it?
And then again - we use these services for different purposes. Some of us jump in for a quick lolz off pictures, while others delve for hours in all sorts of peculiar discussions.

(I'm not so much of a content creator - at least when it comes to something else than text. But I try to do my part in all sorts of communities that interest me to kick some engagement around this place ๐Ÿ’“
I'd like to see this thing taking off and getting at least some of the activity what Reddit gets)

  • I like the thought that you could choose for what purpose when you select the thing you transform into.
Is it for fighting, traveling, hiding, adventuring, reproduction, collecting materials off from etc

  • I do assume that a (real, unlike places we come up with here) place which had no problems or was perfect could not exist.

Plus - in who's point of view would it be perfect?

  • And what would have been an alternative purpose, if it wasn't religion ๐Ÿค”

  • I'd like to check out

    • a world similar to our size but that has only one country/kingdom/etc
    • a world that never had wars/always lived in peace
    • a world that had teleportation unlocked and where it would be as easy to use as walking
    • a world that had invented an item that lets you "store" and "read" feelings (you could read other's feelings too)
    • (golden compass) a world where humans/all intelligent species would have their souls as creatures that followed them in life
  • Ooooh, I like this idea! I would also be curious - would be awesome to check this out!

  • Survive the game with the highest notoriety/ lowest reputation, across all factions and parties within the game.

  • Has her work ever caused even hints of doubt in you (about you and her), or challenges with your self esteem?

  • The genres I typically put time in are RPG, real-time strategy and sandbox.

Lately I have been played Idling to Rule the Gods, Project Zomboid, Blade & Sorcery and Age of Empires II: Definite Edition

  • A fine question!

The easiest answer is effect of the hobby towards other aspects of life. If one's relationships with people suffer, or school or work, because one rather sits in front of one's gaming device, then there's a chance that one has a gaming disorder. Also, continuously postponing things that need to be done in real life and rather play games can be a sign.

Things that can lead to adding gaming hours:

    • having most friendships in multiplayer games
    • feeling that one's not good enough in the real world compared to skills and activities related in video games
    • getting praise for what one does in games but receives no positive feedback in real life
    • having the urge to flee from real world through escapism (problems with parents, bullying, traumas and other life difficulties)

    .

Some people don't even get joy from games anymore, and they still continue the activity. Some get to the point of experiencing suicidal thoughts. Then there's the thing of social exclusion - you simply drift away from the society and lock yourself up at home.

EDIT: It doesn't mean that one has problems if one is having a blast with games for one or two weeks. After a half a year and neglecting other parts of life however...

  • Not saying that providing links is bad. Is good and in most cases even needed.

It's just that I'm quite stubborn clicking open links that lead me outside ๐Ÿ˜… I mostly read comments and I am happy when I see a bot posting a summary comment in some posts โค

  • Oof. My sister did this in GTA. It was sooooo frustrating to watch at! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • To those as lazy as me not to click outside Lemmy:

  • I'm confused. Should I feel melancholic or amused?

  • The ogre walks to the wizard
The ogre BONKS with his club, dropping the wizard unconscious
The ogre carries the wizard to a barrel of piss
The ogre drops the unconscious wizard in the barrel
    The party leaves

  • Then there are stat reductions. Less HP/mana/armor etc. Or, alternatively, you can take a value from a stat and add it to another/other stats.

I once checked out the damages done by different bullets in the original DOOM and with the console I "traded" bullets for others based on those values.
