  • Our cat was brought up on high protein and indulgence. Everything she wanted to smell, we presented; every sniffable light had a willing Sherpa to get the nose in range. Open the closet door. Added blanket in couch corner arranged for easy use by submarine cat. Toys to carry around.

You better believe she's there for cooking.

  • Remind me what you want:

    • care for artifacts
    • houses where they used to be

It seems like we've been indoctrinated on the former but, with the local bands' approval, we'll do the latter.

    Probably just Clovis artifacts anyway.

  • I love this little bit of hate. Is this the one created by the Egyptian sweatshop that did so many others?

If you forget that Canada's #2 on the best places to live comparison, then they've won.

Like, sure, things can definitely improve, but hate like this junk wants you to toss the proverbial baby with the bathwater.

I'll be glad when this crap is forgotten.

  • I've NEVER seen this be an issue with any of the childcare places in town.

We definitely don't live near the same daycares. I've seen this with EVERY daycare I've ever lived near. I don't know what causes people to lose their freaking MIND when they're picking up their kid but I've seen parents kicking cars of other parents because one or both of them can't park or pull out, or one is double-parked, or both; and, in every case, it's not a parking lot but an active side road.

No one cares about the kids. It's only the parents.

  • I wonder whether comments that exactly match what the anti-canada bots are saying, are intentional or just plain stupid accidents.

Second-best country in the world to live, but sulk off to somewhere else if ya like.

  • Our politicians should be working on the thousands of unresolved problems IN Canada not trying

You know there's more than one politician, right?

Thus, we can do both, and there's no "but we were solving this other thing first" issue when it comes to external issues since those can be discussed in parallel.

  • emails seen by CBC News

I'm disappointed whenever anyone who should know as a writer that 'traffic'. 'mail', and 'email', are already the form used to describe a collection of things, writes as if they don't. They're almost begging to be regarded as not an authority at a time when I expect they'd rather want that.

  • [litchally]

Adverbs are fun if you get to know more of them.

there have been no confirmed reports of rapes. You repeat this nonsense out of racism

    Doctor denies well-documented rape

Was the doctor challenging the notion that the entire group was somehow responsible for the actions of its aggressive and violent representatives? The context suggests the doctor was more trying to prevent red-washing and entire group - "out of racism", you quoted - and less excusing or trivializing the act itself.

But expecting a careful consideration of anyone's words in debsting this conflict where people continue to vote for violent oppressors as leaders is rather a little too optimistic!

  • They

    • add a second source of package truth to the host, introducing uncertainty in content. So they...
    • risk consistency in that you can't be sure quickly from where something came.
    • add an out of band repo-like entity with no signed manifest of exact contents so you can't validate your install down to the file level
    • encourage dependency hell
    • break any sort agreements as vendors can all refuse to support people with this oob spooge, at the drop of a hat (happened to me with moreutils)

Really, from a build/release standpoint, from an os security standpoint and from an escalation/support standpoint - three jobs I held on the OS/distro side - they're all just toxic and valueless.

But the kids think they're neat, so in a world where they rewarded systemd with more than ridicule, I guess #thisIsFine.
