  • Not good enough for Polievre. Is this Milhouse's lynchpin campaign slur that will lock in the election? Are people so dumb that it's not even needed?

Usually for the worst option to beat out the second-worst option, it takes more than slamming the second-worst plan and not revealing their own plans for review, so the people have to be especially dumb or there's got to be some outrage to rally around.

Let's hope it's still not enough; because I'll replace the reds but not with the blues!

  • The second worst thing is how the focused on the expense of the investigation.

Typical smokescreen by the people most afraid of a moral reckoning.

Watch who's complaining about the cost of consolidated services - usually the most cost-effective - and see, not the price tag, but what they're afraid it'll get us. Usually it's healthcare, schools, and cops; guess why that's a problem.

  • can adapt their interactions with the tool accordingly

If we could have programmed around this prior, then people who can and can't Google wouldn't be a thing: Google would just know what results to bring up without the search-curse-refine-repeat cycle. Prompt engineering seems like an extension of Google search-fu.

  • I'd say the older one gets, the more alcohol can tend to change from being the message to being the punctuation.

In my case it'll be either an IPA (something new: everyone has a shitty IPA around here so there's no lack) or a whisky I like, in 1-2 social zooms a week and/or something to mourn the death of the weekend.

  • See this is the sad part.

I'd take a job in NL only if it let me relo there for awhile. My bro did that for a few posts, and got a year or two in new country to explore on the weekends with each new posting.

So while remote-first is how I want to work, I'd want resources and ability to relo to a new place every few years. You need to be in place that renews you mentally when you're not working.

Especially in I-T, if you can't go somewhere new and enjoy new sounds, sights, smells and customs, and you're stuck in a sad cube jungle with no excitement at the end of the week, you may as well report to the Soylent green plant.

Time to refit the cruise ship for live-aboard remote global work for me and like 6000 of my friends. Starlink works on the cruise runs, right?
