  • Bob Ross would be an angel about it.

But to me, the problem could be trying to find shortcuts to paint what it seems like instead of what it is. If you want a more accurate representation, try to be ridiculously intentional with every line, no cutting corners. Picasso could draw realistically before he experimented with cubism.

On the other hand, lean into this disconcerting theme and at least everything you do will be interesting.

  • Your 2025 version gives me anxiety... which isn't a bad thing because it's definitely got character. But it's no quaint farmhouse.

It's the harsh lines creating movement in different directions, the disjointed porportions, the lighting — like a lovely summer day— in contrast with the deadness of what should be a lush background. Meanwhile, the demon tree of pain is drawing focus like a DMT nightmare.

Did you take the goddamn fear toxin before painting this?

I love it. I would honestly hang it up because it's got a vibe.

  • I'm no expert on the subject and I wasn't able to find a clear account. Keep in mind a lot of effort went into spinning the story so the real facts might be long gone.

    I've read:

-It was a dispute over unpaid rent

-It was political between nazi's and communists

-Wessel's chick used to prostitute for his killer

Who knows, it could have been a bunch of things.

  • I generally support most of the things posted here. This one gave me an ick feeling, though.

Yes, there's loads and loads of evidence for the unbalanced emotional labor placed on women and I've seen it and I've been there and I hate it.

While the headline tempers the screenshot, it still says "men, unironically," and that's the part I feel is more divisive. Even though part of me agrees, a part that wants to scream "Fuck yes, sister!" I gotta be like nah, not this one.

  • Wigwam brand socks for everything. I bought a couple pairs for a remote bush job that lasted me, and I'm not exaggerating, eight years. Another pair I had for five years but lost them, not a single hole. That's wearing them at least every other week -and- heavy use with steeltoe boots.

I will not buy other socks. Unless they're cute.

  • As a former art student, yeah. I'm not eyeing up your dick, I'm furious at it because my paper is covered in eraser smudges and no matter what I do it ends up like beaker's nose.
