  • Lmao quite the opposite. I respect the Chinese people so much that I actually listen to them instead of infantilizing them by saying “I love Chinese people but hate the Chinese government”, as if the Chinese government isn’t made up of Chinese people and supported by an overwhelming majority of the Chinese people.

  • In fact it is. We don’t get to participate in the vast majority of our governance already. Now you could argue that a society should afford full democratic rights to all of its citizens, but that is not the system we’re living in. Even in the areas where we’re allowed to participate, we have exceptions that bar many millions of people from participating, including but not limited to prisoners and in most places ex cons.?

  • Mubarak was a terrible person, and it’s funny that his government is still internationally recognized despite being not only violent against civilians, not having the support of the Yemeni people, and not holding nearly as much territory as the people who do in fact have the support of the people. Good riddance to bad garbage.

  • Oh man appealing to your friends to say you’re not racist, so original. Would you say you have black friends with a straight face? I too have Chinese friends, and my wife is from the mainland, I don’t use them to justify my stances.

  • You can’t win a civil war by blowing up all of the infrastructure you rely upon, you do it with boots on the ground, building to building sweeps etc. now, that’s all if you can actually get a civil war going. It’s looking like people are going to sit around and let people get taken one by one.

  • FFVII set me up to be an eco-Marxist.

Disco Elysium helped me come to terms with my alcoholism and learn to move forward with my life instead of wallowing in self pity and loathing for the things I had done.

Really those are the two games that affected me most heavily in my life.

  • No, there really isn’t, considering even anonymous western polling has found the Chinese people support their government in numbers unheard of in the west. That’s just a cope bigots tell themselves to justify being anti-Chinese.

On the other hand, the majority of Israelis support the continuation of the ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza and the West Bank, and their and their governments conflation of Israel with Jewishness is indeed dangerous and causes more danger for Jewish persons the world around.

  • Not exactly bonds, but my Chinese stocks have outperformed my US stocks for months now. My BYD shares are up over 60% in less than a year. They seem to have stabilized around $100/share right now, but it’s still leagues ahead of where my US stocks are.

  • Smear and ghosting are bad on VA in my experience. I had one around when Miles Morales first came out and it was so bad I thought my tv was broken, and Samsung agreed and sent a guy to replace the panel. The new panel did the same thing though, and at that point I just sold it and bought an OLED.

  • Not to mention the US still hasn’t paid reparations for their genocide, and trump dismantled programs designed to clean up Vietnam era bombs and pollution that still kill people there, while China is partnering with them to build infrastructure. There’s still a lot of animosity over Chinas invasion though, they really should have sided with the Vietnamese over the Khmer Rouge, but they were trying to get closer to the US at that time, who also supported the Khmer Rouge.

  • Even then, they moved some of their iPhone operations to India, and they had to scale back plans because the Indian workforce doesn’t have the skills needed to perform the work, and getting a made in India iPhone is pretty much a marker of getting a lemon. Significantly lower quality control, significantly higher tolerance for defects.

  • If that happens, colleges might have to cut some of the massive administrative waste their bureaucracies have developed over the last few decades that are the majority of the reason for increased tuitions (outside of greed).

Oh who am I kidding, they’ll cut services for students and pay professors even less, bureaucrats will never willingly surrender power.
