  • If passed, this would effectively ban trans healthcare. It would cut funding to any hospital or medical facility that provides gender affirming care. That means only private practices would be able to offer gender affirming care, and most of them would probably have to stop providing it. If they continued to, they would be ineligible to receive payment from medicare or medicaid for any other patients they see, not just the trans ones. The administration is talking about labeling all trans people as terrorists, why would you think they wouldn't ban trans healthcare with a smile on their shitty faces?

  • Yea, keeping track of dues dates has been a big struggle. I try to use the calendar app on my phone to set a reminder for pretty much everything. My classes are all MWF so it designate Tues, Thurs, and Sat as dedicated homework days before I leave for work. I was torn between mechanical and electrical, I did mechanical because its where my strengths lie, but I'm still tempted to switch just because I want to learn more about electrical.

  • I'm 36 and doing the same thing as you right now, fulltime job and full time school for mechanical engineering. Its tough but I just try to keep grinding. I don't look too far into the future otherwise it starts to feel overwhelming, I try to plan for getting through the next week before worrying about the next. I also take frequent breaks when studying, if I start to feel molasses brained ( I feel like mine starts overheating like an old car lkl) I find a stopping point and do something mindless for a little bit before diving back in. I did switch to ER adderal and found that helped me have a longer runtime between breaks. Keep at it though, you can do it and when you do, it will be all the sweeter.

  • I used to work as an appliance repair woman. It's totally doable for the average person. The only specialty tool you may need is a very large pair of snapring/spring pliers. The gasket that seals the front of the machine to the drum uses a large wire loop connected with a 2-3" long spring on the ends to secure it. If the drum is not spinning smoothly then either the spindle bearings have failed or the spider/flange that attaches the drum to the spindle has broken. Either one are fairly simple to replace. What model washing machine do you have?

  • Take both the battery terminals off, if there are crusty white or blue gunk on them you can use a little vinegar to clean it off. Clean the contacting parts of both terminals and where they connect to the battery with a wire brush till the metal looks at least vaguely shiny. Put the terminals back on and tighten them down with a wrench, if its an american car its usually a 1/2" if its an import its almost certainly a 10mm. If it doesn't work after that try jumping it again, if it still doesn't work its probably the starter or starter solenoid. You can try tapping on the starter solenoid with a hammer to unstick it as a temporary fix to get you going, but if you have to do that then it needs replaced sooner rather than later anyways.

  • It's not oil, its molten aluminum judging from how bright and white the flame is and the fact that the machine is an aluminum bar extruder. People don't generally realize how insanely flammable aluminum can be when it is reduced to a fine enough powder. Powdered aluminum mixed with an oxidizer is what makes fire crackers go bang. It's also one of the two main ingredient in thermite.

  • Part of the problem with teslas is they will sometimes do the phantom braking even when not on autopilot. My gf has a model 3 we bought back before F-Elon went full mask off, and there's a certain road we occasionally drive where the car will just slam on the brakes for no reason wherever another road joins the main one. We both refuse to use autopilot but it still does it with even normal cruise control active and sometimes even under full manual control. Its a serious problem. We'd replace the stupid thing if we could afford it but its devalued so much that its more affordable to just keep it.

  • hmmm

    Jump
  • Other than the stupid ducks, exactly. They arn't good on-road vehicles. They do great on the trails, but anyone who would buy one as a daily driver that never sees dirt is a moron.
