  • Years ago https://web.hypothes.is/ used to let one annotate any website, but it appears now they are focused on only student/educational usage.

There was a plugin that allowed highlighting text on any web page, adding comments, and having threaded conversations based on groups.. it was kind of cool, too bad it didn't take off.

EDIT 1: I'll be darned, the Chrome extension still exists.. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hypothesis-web-pdf-annota/bjfhmglciegochdpefhhlphglcehbmek

EDIT 2: I found my old account and the test annotations I'd done (and group definitions) still work! Guess this is still a working thing, worth exploring more.

  • Fossil fuel fracking using fresh water doesn't help, either...

  • Use a straw if available...

  • Same. Waiting for the shitstorm caused by recently-announced efforts by accountimg firms to use AI too! I'm sure that'll go just fine.

  • Clueless bureaucrats, wow that is infuriating.

  • ;( so no more PBS Spacetime, Eons, etc. on Youtube?

I hope the vengeful ghosts of Fred Rogers, Bob Ross and Mr. Hooper drive everyone in the GOP insane.

  • Uhm, I recall hearing on CBC last week a recent tremor was likely 'industry-related' (read: fracking).

NE British Columbia ~ NW Alberta = oil industry?

  • I was on a project where a co-worker left and his son was onboarded a few years later; he seemed much more chill than I when we were both working on an issue and it dawned on me that he was literally fixing (well, not really a defect just an update) his Dad's code. Heh.

  • Or, listen to the "Better Offline" podcast for another viewpoint :p

  • I can sort of sympathize with the woman's rage since this was an intersection where the other driver should have stopped perhaps and tried to save the chicken. But she shouldn't have assaulted the other driver...

    Much worse was this story

  • Thanks for that link, I've been thinking about that. Luckily we don't have outages often...

  • And 'Lie detectors' (polygraphs). Don't forget those frauds.
