Because most people nowadays see everything as a transaction, including "love". You really can't expect anything else in a society that sees everything through the prism of money.

Those are nice thoughts... sadly, that needs a social and economical order change, as well as reeducation.

They fail to realize that we are also human... not only that, but we're undersexed humans.
