The storyline in this game is off the rails

The king could take the queen though, unless there's something else going on we can't see.
- There must have been a clergyman at 45 degrees over her shoulder watching through binoculars.
- It looks like she's one sword length / space away.
  
  If that was the case, the knight would be able to help.
I prefer this one.
Fun fact Chess was under constant revision for a long period after its creation. After though people started gate keeping it and preventing changes. So who knows, maybe a better storyline existed or should of existed?

Fun fact, rook piece is called elephant in India.
