Didn't one of the con governments before him have the opportunity to make this argument but chose instead to go with "Trudeau bad", which ended up imposing the federal carbon tax on Manitoba?
- “It’s definitely something that I know Manitobans would like to see some help with. We’ve put a lot of hard work in over the past five decades to build a low carbon electricity grid. We’ve paid the down payment on that mortgage. We’re in a position to have a low carbon economy going forward into the future.”
  Sooo, then, no issue with carbon tax if you've "paid down" that mortgage and upgraded. Or has someone not put money to mouth on that upgrade?
  And if you're upgrading just to save that carbon tax - because in years without it we see what upgrades you didn't do - then it appears the carbon levy is effective in preserving SOME kind of a planet for your kids. If protecting the land is new to you, find an indigene and ask them about their consistent 'shepherds of the land since always' image in the media.
After the incredible climate change effects seen 2023 (e.g., wildfires), the amount of current political fixation on not collecting carbon tax sure is disheartening to me
