- Dave said that for the Royal Rumble, while nothing is announced, they seem to be teasing Reigns vs. Orton, Sky vs. Belair and Logan Paul defending the U.S. title against a tournament winner. With the two Rumbles, you probably aren’t having more than three or four other matches so some of that could be for television. Rollins vs. McIntyre is another match they are building as a major one. Reigns defending on the show was part of the plans for months and he starts back in two weeks on Smackdown.
- He noted that it appears the 12/25 Raw will be a best-of show since there is no show being taped, but WWE hasn’t publicly confirmed it, but one executive there said that to the best of his knowledge, it was accurate.
- Dave gave a update on Sami Zayn. He said it looked like they were doing an injury angle with McIntyre and Zayn when McIntyre stomped on Zayn’s bad knee. He said he doesn't have it confirmed Zayn will be off for a while due to that, but does know that Zayn had asked for time off recently and was granted it but wasn’t told when that would begin past he was not scheduled for 12/28 show in Laval, Quebec that would normally be built around him as that was during the scheduled break although it is possible they could have him do that show.
- In the case of McIntyre, Meltzer said s of this week there was nothing new as far as what he was looking at doing. He’s considered a number of things including taking time off to be with his family that he’s seen little of for so long.
- Kelani Jordan has impressed WWE higher-ups. Those within WWE and NXT are said to be ‘very high’ on Jordan’s progress.
- Per Meltzer, there has been ‘at least talk’ of Tyler Bate moving to either Raw or SmackDown. He noted his size isn’t particularly right for that but the size thing isn’t as big a deal now with Vince McMahon out of the picture and Paul Levesque being more open minded as to who can be a top star.
