I'm done paying Google to be a beta tester for their experiments. No matter how much I may hate manufacturer skins on top of Android, I'd rather deal with software bugs and quirks than hardware issues.
My Pixel 6 always had issues switching from Wi-Fi to cellular, often requiring toggling airplane mode to get back data. It will be my last Google handset for a long while. Still deciding what to get next, leaning towards Samsung or OnePlus.

I'm running a Pixel 7 with GrapheneOS and honestly can't complain about anything. It works pretty flawlessly and battery life is great.

I have the P8 pro with 4G. And I barely drop below 40 % during the day. And that with plenty of screen on time.

I know this is for the 8 pro but man the modem on the 7 pro was such bullshā¦ All kinds of issues. So bad that even googles support gave in and offered a refund after 1 year.
For a while I was considering the 8 pro, but I think their hardware is not close to par with the others yet and the new price is a joke for a pixel.
Went for something else instead and wonāt return to pixel for at least a few years.

I think the modem is the same anyway. At most they may have changed some behaviour with software but it's still crap.

Overheating in summer (this is the soc not the modem but still), calls dropping constantly, bad call quality, with dual sim people couldnāt call me even though I had full reception. I got a replacement unit, created bug reports, changed providers etcā¦ For me it was a piece of shit at the end of the day, and Iām a pixel fan :D (well was)
No issues with my pixel 1 or 3, or the iPhone.

I mean, I've been skipping every last one after my Pixel XL bricked itself. Got a Samsung S9+. Waiting for that good Pixel yet. A compelling reason to give up this phone.

I need to charge my Pixel 7a 2-3 times/day. I'm at 21%. My phone was at 100% 12 hours ago. Only 1h37m screen-on time.
This is the worst battery life I've ever had from a phone. So, I'm not surprised the Pixel 8 is also bad.
I'm going to sell this phone and get something else. This will be my first time ever selling a phone before running it into the ground; my last phone was a Pixel 3a I got 4 years from.

Can you try grapheneOS as a last resort? I get almost 2-day battery life on it in my 6a.

I can't, unfortunately. I need pretty tight Google integration for work. I tried it initially, but it was far too janky for me.

I thought I'm worse off with my 5 year old Poco F1 which only has a half-day battery and I average a 3 hour SOT each charge session. I am quite surprised that the battery is worse as I expected the Tensor G2 to be more efficient than the SDM845.

5G is slower than 4G 9 times out of 10 for me. I donāt understand wtf AT&T is doing.
Strange, I can get over 100 Mbps down from them
S21 Ultra user here, not in US.
My experience is the same. 50/20 on 4G and the same area which has 5G also had 18/5 lol
