Little Mountain developer wants Vancouver to relax social housing requirements

In the report, city staff write, “releasing the occupancy permit holds in the housing agreement on the phases 1 and 2 market lots with respect to the completion of the social housing units on the BC Housing lots reduces the city’s ability to ensure that these social housing units are constructed and occupied ahead of the market residential units in the development.”
Despite that, city staff and BC Housing are recommending council approve the developer’s request.
It's not even disappointing, anymore, when a developer makes a deal and then goes back on it; it's embarrassing.
And to hold the project over us because he can't get financing for the rate he wants because, somehow, the social units poison it? No. Tell us another story.
Better yet, walk away. Just go. Someone else will build on that site where this lying assclown won't.
And maybe put milestone clauses into subsequent contracts.
The worst part is that our new city Government is just signing off on this kind of crap. What's to stop this guy from never building them?
