Awesome news. They're doing some good things over in the world of Impact lately, I think I'm gonna start checking it out instead of Rampage from now on.
The best thing Impact ever did was get away from the TNA branding. The double entendre of it was incredibly dumb, and rooted in Vince Russo's fucked up sensibilities.
If they think this will help them grow, I strongly disagree.
It's true. The name change doesn't do much for me (I wasn't watching so I don't have nostalgia for that era) but it seems to be going over very well online. And D'amore's reasoning in their press release made a lot of sense (people still chant TNA at shows, overseas broadcasters still refer to them as TNA in meetings).
I stopped watching TNA when they got rid of the six sided ring. Not so much because of the ring itself, but it was just the last straw with all the shitty changes Hogan and Bischoff made.
