Without paid family leave, teachers stockpile sick days and aim for summer babies

"We had one legislator that said — oh goodness — he said, 'Why can't women just plan their pregnancies around summer break?'"

The ignorance of these politicians is just astounding.

In an industry largely dominated by females in their childbearing years it is beyond insane that they don't have a right so basic as maternity leave. It's a disgrace.

To me, the USA really seems more and more to be a failed state. I'm so sorry for all these teachers.

Great policies for great demographies.
